Whoo hoo it's the weekend!

Not that it means anything, because it's summer, so everyday is a Saturday. (Hogod, when does school start back up?!?! I've already bought school supplies. I'm ready for a SCHEDULE again!) My sister and her fiance are coming up to hang, which is always a good time. This means there will be Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and there is no bad there.

Yesterday I got to spend the whole day with my buddy Blair down in the city, and man, I love that guy. Smart, funny, all around good human being. Nothing like having a non-stop 6 hour conversation with someone in a bar, amirite? He's a writer as well (and was the director for Blood on the Highway) so we talked for hours about projects we're working on, etc. I sent him "Stallioncrest" to get some inspiration to finish that and get the animation going for webisodes. (My sister has FAILED me on that front. Woe. Fortunately, I know several graphic artists, so I will hopefully realize mmy dream of a poorly animated horse soap opera, Wheeee heeee pbbblt! Hahaha.)

I'm starting to read Michael Chabon's "The Yiddish Policeman Union" and once again am slipping into his wonderful storytelling. Has anyone else read it? Thoughts? (Oooh, and I've requested an Amazon Kindle for my birthday. I HOPE I HOPE I HOPE!!) Did you know that you NEVER pay for the wireless bill??? That's how badly Amazon wants you to buy it. It has web-surfing capabilities! Email! Basic search functions! Man, that is sweet. You wanna look up a word or cross reference something? BAM. Highlight and click and there it is off the web. And you pay nothing. Um, just the initial $350 for the equipment, er.

If anyone is interested, I posted to the Mormon Blog about the LDS/FLDS news lately.

I cannot decide if we should eat Italian (homemade marinara, pasta, salad, wine), Asian (peanut noodles, stir fry veggies, rice, some type of alcohol), or fried chicken (onion rings, baked beans - homemade - and salad and beer/wine) for dinner tonight. Feel free to offer your choice!

FRIDAY!!!!!! YAY.

ALWAYS GO FOR THE FRIED OPTION. <---That's pretty much my life's motto. Paula Deen will be the death of me one day. AND I WILL LOVE IT.

Yay, I'm so glad you had such a great time with your man-shaped friend. What did he think of "Stallioncrest"? The greatest horse soap opera of our generation, y/y?

Okay, I really should not even be here right now because work has been a shitstorm this week. Guess where I get to be alllllll weekend? If you guessed my office, here's a year supply of Turtle Wax and a nifty watch.

He's not read it yet - he'd never heard of the horse husband, etc. so i filled him in on all of that and sent him the screenplay last night. HEEE. I'll keep you posted...

Oh noes to work being full of suckitude!!! Um, don't forget that the Mr.s place of employment has non-profit options... ILULEE. <3 <3

Mmmm... I am leaning that way because I have all of these wonderful fresh herbs in the garden (and homegrown tomatoes!) This may win out, yet!

I hope you do the same!

Stop with the Kindle propaganda! So many people are saying how awesome it is that pretty soon I'm not going to be able to stop myself from getting one. Nooo.

Mmm. Out of your choices, I vote Italian.

Italian, Italian, Italian! I just picked a bunch of basil and oregano and eggplant and chard, so that's the way I'm leaning (Well, ratatouille is cooling, but I'm thinking eggplant over pasta for supper).

The heirloom tomatoes at the farmer's market were a bust on Wednesday, but I have my fingers crossed for the Saturday market. Here's hoping I roll out of bed before 10! I see a tomato tart in my future!

Mmmmmmmmm. I think that's how I'm going with food - it just sounds so good to me! (I looooove ratatouille. I use Martha Stewart's recipe and it is delicious, if a little time consuming. But hey - isn't all good food?)

I hope you get loads of yummy tomatoes tomorrow! Go to bed early tonight with visions of herbs and produce dancing in your head. And then save a slice of tart for me. :D

I would use it for fanfic! I'm pretty sure that you can drag and drop text files into the Kindle. Adobe files you definitely can, so I could just c&p fanfic into a new Adobe window and drag it over. Plus, you can get newspapers and magazine subscriptions on it! Granted, it's without ads and most pictures, but I get magazines for the words. :D

I will tell you! Since Wonderboys, which was a great story but somehow it felt detatched to me, he's really made strides with both storytelling and an emotional punch to his books. Blair and I were talking about this yesterday, and he hit it on the head: he used to tell you a story as if it was something in a book, but with "Kavalier and Klay" he began telling a story from his soul. That sounds cheesy, but it feels right to me, somehow.

Asian!

If you've eaten any of the other options you're going to have to barf it up and start again.

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
