My workout mix

I've had a couple of people ask for this, and I'm sorry it's taken so long to get up. It's uh... big. Currently I'm walking about 2 1/2 hours 6 days a week with that bumping up to 3 1/2 hours five times a week, so I need a lot of music. This is the newest mix I've made. I replace it every two weeks, or sooner, depending. (If you're wondering why I walk so much, it's because I'm raising money for women with breast cancer - I'm walking 60 miles in one weekend. Feel free to make a donation, should you feel so inspired. It's an amazing organization with every single penny going directly to someone's care, not an administrator.)

I had to break this down into groups, because uploading individual songs would have been redonk. Here's my theory on what I listen to: I like to either rock out, feel like a badass or sexy, or shake my butt. If I can laugh while doing that, it's like Christmas and Halloween made into a cake shaped like ponies. Which is why I've got some Flight of the Conchords and Monty Python here. And South Park. :) I don't want emo music, or classical, or anything that makes me slow down/stop working out. Pick out what you want, toss what you don't. (And let me know if you're taking so I can keep track, por favor.)

Him and MC Lars, who I love like mad.

I should have at least two VC albums around somewhere. I'll see if I can find them to send your way. Definitely have the Buffy EP and Moody Groove Music (or at least had, once upon a time).

Great lists - but I have a great suggestion. My fave workout kick it song is Rob Zombie's version of Brick House from the House of 1000 Corpses Soundtrack. Cheryl Burke - eat your heart out!

My 22 year old has banned me from listening to that because I embarrass him (right - like I don't do that anyway!) He says his mother can simply not go around the house pretending she is a brick house. TOUGH. He wants the electricity to stay on, right? Well that song has this psychological effect on me. When you work out to Brick House, you can almost visualize yourself in the black crushed velvet mini with the thigh high boots. You know, you get that same feeling Bella Swan got that first day of school at Sporks High when every guy in the school was drooling over her plain little ass. It's power!

Big Audio Dynamite is the balls... You also get mad props over here for reppin' MC 900 ft. Jesus, which is quite possibly the best rap name EVAR.

Looking at your music selection, I realize you might get a kick out of Party Fun Action Committee, which is a parody group that makes fun of pretty much every hip hop and R&B style that there is, plus whatever else strikes their fancy. It's not on their MySpace page, but if you're ever DL-ing stuff, you should see if you can find Mental Storm, which is a nerdcore parody (but in good humor as the guys behind it are nerdcore-adjacent) or Back N Da Daiz, which is a parody of every single one of those "Remember back in the hood how we did this and hung out with so-and-so" songs. Only weird.

Anyway, AWESOME mix. :D

BAD makes me so happy. MC 900 Ft. Jesus was from my neck of the woods - that song came out in 1990, or close to it. It's smoooooooth.

Oooh, thanks for the link! I'll be sure to check them out.

It is a good song... We have a MC9fJ album on vinyl. We is hardcore. :D

And just a word of warning, I have the PFAC album, and I hadn't been to their MySpace page before just now. They have a song on there that I realize is supposed to be a parody (natch), but it seems kind of homophobic. I'm not sure if I should be offended or not... Just letting you know. :p

But "I Shoulda Known" is hilarious...

Ya know every time I think I've been doing a good job of expanding my musical knowledge - which is a bit more eclectic than most in general - someone posts a list of music. lol Which is awesome, since I get to hear something new! Thanks. :D

Oh, as for "don't you judge me...". Yeah. I'm a Josh Groban and NKOTB fan. You won't hear a peep from me. :P

I love LJ for the hints on new music - it's such a great way to find stuff you normally wouldn't know about, at least it is for me. I'm just a humble suburban haus frau that hates the radio so I depend on the hipness of others. :D

Oh wow, what an excellent mix of music. I'll definitely be snagging some!

Totally agree on 'Oops (Oh My)'. It's like sex all folded up and poured into your ears like melted butter and honey. Not to mix metaphors. Anyway, your description immediately made me think of another song - have you ever heard 'Don't Be Shy' by Rouge? It's got a nice beat and Dr. Zeus is on it or produced it or something, so who knows, you might like it :)

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
