P90X wk 10 + progress report

Damn. I'm so tired. But it's a good hurt, Clem.

Week 10 of 12 weeks, then week 13 is the final stretch with a different set of workouts/structure. I started this program at 142 lbs, currently weigh 132 as of this morning. (And I'm all bloaty from my cycle, too.) I've gone from a size 12 to a comfy 6, 4 in some things. It's not about the scale, it's about looking at myself and seeing strength. It feels awesome. I'm strong, I know I'm strong, I know I'm healthy, and if I want to do something physical, then I know I can do that, too. THAT is what it's all about for me, yo.

I wrapped up Ab Ripper after doing Back & Biceps and I can get through Ab Ripper with almost no problems. The oblique V ups still continue to wear me down, but I realized today that I wasn't angled like they are, so I've been making it harder on myself. D'oh! So here's my progress chart from Week 1 to Week 10. Note on pull ups/chin ups with the chair: I started off with my whole foot on the chair, and kept it fairly close to the bar to counter balance. Now, if I use it, I have it a good foot and change out and only have my toes resting on it. I pull myself up the final four inches (to get my chin over the bar) with my feet dangling, no support. I cannot tell you how good it feels to be able to pull myself up unaided. NEVER have I been able to do chin ups. Never. Not anymore!

In other news, for anyone that's in Austin, Texas this Thursday night, the Alamo Drafthouse is hosting a special screening of my movie Blood on the Highway, with also features a relative unknown actor named Nicholas Brendon and another called Tom Towles. :D Should be loads of fun, the majority of the cast will be there for a Q&A afterward, and watching movies at the Alamo Drafthouses is the bomb. Come check it out! Tickets are four bucks, too. NICE. Go to Blood on the Highway's website for more info. (And check out all of the awards we've won! We'll be coming to DVD this fall, courtesy of Time Warner, I'm being told. AWESOME.)

And I'm really looking forward to looking healthy and fit for the Q&A afterward. (New folks: I was 35 lbs heavier for the role.) It's pretty sweet when people don't recognize you because you don't look, and I quote from a prior screening, "like a skeevy trailer whore in real life." Aww, so sweet! LOL.

Don't lie. You know you love looking like a skeevy trailer whore. I've seen you out there on Friday nights...

HEHEE!!!

Wow! You are so in shape! I watched the infomercial for this thing and got tired.

Isn't the infomercial outstanding? The guy that leads these is 52!! (He's 46 in the videos, but he still looks like that. Amazing.)

See, I'm wanting to look like a FIT skeevy trailer whore...

Good work, I'm happy this is working for you!

The movie looks like it's just my thing.

Thank you, I'm happy about it, too! :D

The movie is hilarious and naughty - my favorite kind.

What the hell is a Congdon Locomotive? It sounds like a particularly bizarre sexual position, but I don't think you'd do forty at a time if it were.

I start my new job next week. It's a mile and a half away, so that's three miles of walking per day (plus it's up Capitol Hill which adds a degree of difficulty). I won't get your results, but it's a start. *G*

Congdon Locomotive: stand one foot in front of the other, knees bent. Bend over like a hinge (to support your back) pick up your weights (behind your front ankle) and lift one in a back fly. As you're lowering it to the ground, lift the other one. Continue and count to 40.

Good for you with the walking! I have to say, it's my favorite form of exercise. You can see everything around you, unlike running, where you focus on what's in front.

a) You made a movie with XANDER? /squee!
b) YOU ROCK!! I have no idea how you could be wearing a 12 at only 142, but it's your body so you should know. :P Anyway, again, YOU ROCK!! I've never been able to do a chin-up in my life, even as a nimble, monkey-bar-rockin' little kid.

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
