Any remaining errors fall squarely on her my shoulders. :D Also, I am ultimately a romantic, I don't like character death, I love writing happy endings, and Kurt and Rachel live in my dream place in Carroll Gardens (it's modeled after a real piece of real estate there.) I tried to be as accurate as a visitor to NYC can get, but did take a few liberties with neighborhood bodegas.

Chapter Nine
* * * * *

Kurt stood on the sidewalk outside the fire house. Left was his home, right was Blaine's. It was late, he was tired, and he wanted to crawl into bed and sleep for hours, letting the last of the adrenaline from the night's excitement drain away.

He took a left.

He slipped quietly into his house, so as to not wake Rachel, and opened his drawers, grabbing a pair of pajamas. And an outfit for the next day. He quietly opened cabinets in the bathroom, grabbing his toothbrush and other toiletries, packed a small bag, pulled out his phone and ordered a cab on his taxi app. He didn't have it in him to walk the multiple blocks to Blaine's apartment.

The cab pulled up quickly; Kurt gave the instructions and slumped against the door as they drove away, nervous now that his plan was clear and he didn't have anything to occupy his hands or thoughts. Before, Kurt had been acting on instinct – he cared for someone, they were in danger, he needed to make sure they were okay.

Back when it was just him and his father, taking care of his dad – and to some extent, himself – had just come naturally. At first it was out of necessity, but it became who he now was, someone that stared down fear and kept going. It hadn't occurred to him that he could have left before Blaine had returned; he hadn't needed to make sure Blaine had been taken care of, he just...did it. He wanted to take care of Blaine, not because Blaine couldn't do for himself – he clearly could – but because Kurt could. And he really, really wanted to.

The cab pulled up to Blaine's building. Kurt handed some cash over, climbed out of the cab, and steeled himself with a deep breath.

He admitted to himself that it felt a little strange letting himself in to Blaine's home, but there was another side of him that loved the idea – that they were saying something about their relationship. That there was a relationship. And if anything, he would be able to sleep well, knowing he wouldn't hear Rachel getting ready for her 5:30 am workout. Which, checking his watch, was in just over an hour and change.

He set the keys on the console table by the front door, took off his shoes, lining them up against the wall, and walked back to Blaine's room where he knew that huge, fluffy bed was. He quickly changed, did a speedy version of his face-cleaning and moisturizing regimen, and slipped under the cool sheets, sighing with bliss at how comfortable it was. He curled on his side, one hand stretched across the empty space, closed his eyes, and breathed deep. He took one of the pillows and buried his face in it; it smelled like Blaine. Smiling to himself, he quickly fell asleep.

He drifted back to consciousness when he felt the bed shift. He cracked an eye and saw Blaine, stripping down to his boxer briefs before sliding under the covers next to him. Kurt grinned sleepily and held out an arm as an invitation. Blaine sighed and curled up against him, kissing his neck until his breathing leveled out again, warm on Kurt's skin.

Before he drifted back asleep, he had a clear thought, This is where I'm supposed to be. He tightened his hold on Blaine and let sleep take him.

* * * * *

An amazing smell woke Kurt up. He glanced at his watch, shocked that most of the morning was gone. Blaine's side of the bed was empty. Kurt stretched his arms overhead, yawning, and made a face when he realized he could taste his breath. A discreet trip to the facilities, and he was able to greet the day a little less embarrassingly.

He stopped in the living room, seeing Blaine with sleep rumpled hair, the sweatpants from the night before low on his hips, turned away in the kitchen cooking breakfast. Kurt gave himself the chance to really look at him; broad shoulders, rounded with muscle, strong back that tapered into a slim waist, and a backside that Kurt would definitely define as being bite-able.

“I feel like I need to wake up like this every morning,” Kurt said.

Blaine turned to look at him over his shoulder, a shy smile on his face. “Hey, you. Mm, I think you do, too.”

Kurt leaned against the counter, watching Blaine as he made them pancakes. It had the added bonus of being able to see Blaine's front, which was even more bite-able than his back.

Blaine cleared his throat, looked as if he was trying to force his features into something more neutral than a huge grin, and said, “You don't know how glad I was to drag myself home and find you waiting for me.”

Seriously. This is...I've been an idiot. “You don't know how glad I was for you to come back.”

Blaine set the spatula next to the griddle, his gaze serious and wanting. Kurt felt like he couldn't breathe and like they were too far apart. “So,” Blaine asked softly, “been thinking?”

Nodding gently, Kurt ran a hand down Blaine's arm. “A lot.” He laughed and said, “I'm here, aren't I?”

Blaine sucked his teeth, saying coyly, “I noticed you packed a little bag.”

“Mm, you saw that, huh? I simply couldn't count on you having all-natural cleansing products. I happen to have very sensitive skin, you know.”

Blaine flipped a pancake, then focused all of his attention on Kurt. “No, but I know that I'd like to find out.” His voice was low and quiet, and for a brief moment Kurt thought he saw nervousness. For me?

“Kurt...I don't want casual. I don't think anyone that got to know you could ever be satisfied with that.”

If Kurt hadn't thought he'd made the right decision before, he knew he had now. Blaine was so open to him, so trusting. He'd never experienced anything like that before; it was almost intoxicating.

His voice almost breathless, Kurt said, “I don’t want casual, either. I... talked to my dad about you. About this,” Kurt gestured between them, feeling like every nerve in his body was on overload. “You'll like him.”

Blaine's face softened, his expression tender. “I will? Is there a 'this?'” He waved the spatula in a general arc between their bodies, repeating the gesture as his eyes searched Kurt's face.

Kurt exhaled, smiling softly. “I'd like there to be.”

Blaine craned his neck forward, closing his eyes. Kurt, laughing, closed the gap and gave him a soft kiss.

“Feel better?” Kurt asked.

Blaine hummed, planting a wet kiss on Kurt's cheek before going back to his task. “Very much.” His face was aglow with a huge smile. “There's coffee; I'm sorry that I'm not a professional barista and that it isn't a nonfat mocha.”

Kurt paused while lifting one of the mugs Blaine had set out ahead of time. “You know my coffee order?”

“Of course,” Blaine replied. “Back when I was trying to get the courage to ask you out that first night, I was hanging on your every word. Then you did the hard work for me.”

Kurt buried his smile in his mug of coffee. Blaine, humming to himself, laid out a plate piled with pancakes, some fruit, and juice. He turned to Kurt, his face totally open and completely hopeful, and pulled Kurt into his arms, resting his chin on Kurt's shoulder. “Thank you.”

Kurt melted against him, delighting in how their bodies fit together as they pressed against one another. He laughed, he couldn't help it. “You're the one that made breakfast.”

Blaine traced his lips over Kurt's, the little bit of stubble dusting his jaw tickling Kurt's skin. “You're the one that made me want to.”

It was as if Kurt's insides were simultaneously liquefying and effervescing. Joy and excitement and a touch of fear at the unknown welled up inside him as he kissed Blaine, taking his time, knowing they could. Blaine almost instantly deepened the kiss, his tongue seeking Kurt's, breathy moans tumbling out of him as Kurt skimmed his hands over Blaine's chest, feeling the strong muscles under warm skin, the coarse hair that converged to a narrowing line below his navel and beyond, and Kurt felt a pool of heat low in his belly, and an overwhelming desire to find out just where it disappeared.

Blaine pulled back, his breathing ragged and voice hoarse, “I would very much like to continue this conversation, Kurt. But um,” he ran his hands down Kurt's arm to his hand and laid it on his flat belly. “I am completely starved. I didn't eat anything after last night.”

Kurt could feel Blaine's stomach rumbling. “I'm so sorry, Blaine, I didn't even think about that. Yes, let's eat.”

As Blaine turned away, Kurt ran a hand down Blaine's bare back and said, “Quickly.”

Kurt sat across from Blaine, his chin propped on his hand as he watched Blaine continue to eat after Kurt had already finished his meal. At first when Kurt speared a pancake with his fork to put it on his plate and saw just how many there were, he assumed Blaine was used to cooking for his coworkers and couldn't translate recipes to cooking for fewer people. Turns out that Blaine was really hungry. Like Finn hungry.

He laughed, he couldn't help it, when Blaine was practically parallel with his plate, almost shoveling food into his mouth. “You are going to make yourself sick.”

“You said quickly.” Blaine said, all innocence.

Kurt bit the inside of his cheek, trying to not laugh, trying to not smile, trying to take in the domesticity of the two of them eating breakfast, teasing one another. And how amazing it felt. He slid the inside of his foot along Blaine's calf, leaning back and sitting primly. “It's probably better if you take your time.”

Blaine sat back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Kurt's face. Oh, he was hungry, that much Kurt could see. Blaine laid his fork along the outside edge of his plate, his eyes raking over Kurt, “I plan on it.”

Blaine stood and held his hand out to Kurt. There was no question now that he'd take it. Kurt slipped his arms around Blaine's neck, nuzzling his cheek and ear, groaning as Blaine held his hips, holding their bodies close together.

“All I could think about after we had everything under control last night was how much I wanted to be with you.”

Kurt brushed Blaine's curls back over his forehead, so grateful for the chance to do so. “Same here.”

They kissed, Kurt letting go of his fears, of his worries because here was Blaine, solid, in his arms, wanting him every bit as much as Kurt wanted Blaine, and it just felt right.

“Blaine.”

“Mm,” Blaine asked, mouthing along Kurt's neck.

“Let's go back to bed.”

Blaine looked him in the eye, his own need and desire written plainly in his wide, hopeful eyes, and nodded a little. “Yeah. Yes. I can do that.”

It took a moment for Kurt to stop smiling enough to properly kiss Blaine; Blaine walked him backwards to the hallway, still kissing him, and paused in the doorway to separate and gently tug Kurt's top off. Kurt pulled it over his head and arms and tossed it carelessly towards his bag as Blaine backed him up to the foot of the bed.

Kurt, with a sneaky grin, turned them so Blaine was forced to crawl backwards on the bed to the pillows. He took a moment to appreciate how handsome Blaine looked, hair mussed, chest bare and heaving, and thick sweatpants-- No, no, those simply will not do. Kurt reached forward and grabbed the sides of Blaine's pants, cocked an eyebrow to make sure it was okay – Blaine rolled his eyes a little and laughed because, yeah, it was completely okay – and tugged them off, leaving Blaine in his tight charcoal grey boxer briefs.

Blaine already looked far gone; his eyes were half-lidded with his own lust, thrilling Kurt that someone was looking at him that way. He just had never been made aware of someone's attraction for him like Blaine did. He realized that he was on his knees, at Blaine's feet, just staring. He moved forward, resting his weight on his hands and languidly kissed Blaine, rubbing his chest against Blaine's gently to continue the delicious friction of a hairy chest against his own far less hirsute body. And it wasn't that Blaine was hairy, it was that he had just enough to feel differently, to tickle and tease Kurt's skin in the best way possible.

He groaned into Blaine's mouth when Blaine gripped his hips again, rubbing his thumbs over the sensitive tendons crossing Kurt's hip bones. Blaine slipped one hand under the waistband of Kurt's pajama pants, gripping his backside and kneading the muscle, holding their bodies together.

Kurt gasped and pulled back, knowing his face was flushed, his lips beginning to swell, but he knew he had to be smart, no matter how lust-filled he was. “Blaine...I want you.”

“Mm, me too,” Blaine moaned, leaning back in for another passionate kiss.

“But...really.” Kurt pulled back to sitting on his knees straddling him, skimming the backs of his fingers over the light dusting of chest hair around Blaine's nipple. “I know I'm safe.” He raised his eyebrows hopefully at Blaine.

Blaine blinked a bit, looking like he was coming back from somewhere far away. “Safe? Oh. Oh.” He surged forward and kissed Kurt again, nuzzling his cheek. “Yes. Always. There are no concerns.” He laughed a little into Kurt's neck at the last part.

Kurt felt completely secure with Blaine, he just...he knew that he could trust him. “Good. Because I have plans.”

He kissed his way across Blaine's clavicles, his thumb working light circles across Blaine's nipple, smiled against Blaine's warm skin at the gasp from the touch. He curled his tongue around the raised nub, lightly drawing it into his mouth, and exhaled coolly over the wet flesh, a spike of desire pulsing through him as he felt Blaine shiver at the touch, quietly repeating Kurt's name like it was a plea.

His fingers traced over the indentations of Blaine's taut belly, ruffling the smattering of hair, teasing and tickling their way down. He turned to look into Blaine's eyes, all the air rushing out of his lungs at the longing and need on Blaine's face. At the trust.

The corners of Blaine's mouth had turned up slightly in a tremulous smile, looking like he might break at any moment. He carded his fingers through Kurt's hair, saying, ”I'm so glad we're here, Kurt. Just...I've really wanted this. You. I mean, not just this.” He stroked his fingertips along Kurt's cheek, “I...there's been something about you from the moment we met.”

Kurt's heart expanded almost painfully in his chest. He saw all of the hope and want in Blaine's eyes that he knew had lived in his own for years now. He held his palm just over Blaine's chest, over his heart, not touching skin, just barely grazing the fine hair there, but the heat poured off Blaine's body, warming Kurt. “It's like that for me, too,” he whispered.

Blaine's body shuddered out a breath before he pressed Kurt's hand to his heart. Knowing that he could bring about this reaction in someone, in Blaine was heady. Kurt felt powerful, desired, and humbled to be trusted to not just break Blaine into tiny little pieces – which he was very much looking forward to doing – but that Blaine trusted that he would put them back together again. He never forgot the words of his dad when he had finally decided he could have The Talk with Kurt during his senior year of high school: “Don't throw yourself around like you don't matter. You matter.”

This mattered. The freedom to touch, to love, to express emotions both tender and fervent with someone you cared for mattered. Kurt laid his cheek on Blaine's hipbone, holding him tightly for just a moment; Blaine threaded his fingers into Kurt's hair, connecting them to more than just the act.

Kurt reached up and entangled his fingers with Blaine's, kissing the back of Blaine's hand. He felt Blaine's breath catch as he mouthed hotly over the straining bulge in Blaine's briefs, giving him the reassurance to continue. He sucked over the thick head through the cotton, exhaling warmly, encouraged by the tremors he felt in Blaine's hips.

“Kurt...” Blaine whined.

“Is this okay?” Kurt asked, rubbing his cheek gently against Blaine's inner thigh.

“God, yes.”

Kurt hooked his fingers under the waistband of Blaine's briefs and carefully pulled them down. Blaine lifted his hips to assist him, squeezing his hand still twined in Kurt's. Kurt traced his lips up and down the length, giving himself a moment. He wanted to give something back to Blaine, to show him that he mattered, that Kurt wanted him every bit as he wanted Kurt. That they weren't alone anymore.

Kurt looked up through his lashes to find Blaine with his free hand clutching his hair, eyes closed and head thrown back. He gave Blaine's hand one final squeeze and let go to allow his palm to roam up and down Blaine’s thigh. The few times Kurt had been on the receiving end, it had felt isolating, impersonal, missing the intimate connection he'd wanted it to be. But giving? He was far more comfortable with that. And he wanted Blaine to feel cherished, adored, desired. It wasn't something he was doing to Blaine; it was something they would share together.

He slipped his hands under Blaine's thighs, holding him up firmly as he hollowed his cheeks, tongue working wetly over Blaine's length, encouraged by the gasps of pleasure Blaine couldn't contain. He pulled off, peppering kisses along the crease in Blaine's thigh under his hip, his hands reaching overhead to stroke Blaine's torso, down his sides, cupping his hips before engulfing him again.

Kurt poured all of his attention, all of his needs into satisfying Blaine, a surprising sense of power and pride coursed through him every time Blaine gasped his name, or when his hand went slack in Kurt’s hair. The muscle in Blaine’s thigh began to tremble; Kurt relaxed his jaw, allowing Blaine in deeper as his hands cupped and gently squeezed. He looked up Blaine’s torso to find him with one hand flung back, eyes closed tight, his chest heaving with the force of his gasps. In a flash of thought, Kurt wondered if it would be possible for him to climax just from the sight of that.

He moaned, sending tiny tremors up Blaine’s length as a result. With a strangled cry, Blaine tugged him off after a few beats, pulling him away. “Kurt...stop, stop.”

A spike of fear ran through him not right, not good, not wanted until Blaine reached under his shoulders to haul him up. “Too much, I can't have this be over so quickly,” he panted, before their lips crashed together.

“It's not, it won't,” Kurt gasped, cradling Blaine's face as he kissed him deeply, not ever wanting this moment to be over.

Blaine buried his face in Kurt's neck. “I want...I want--”

“What? Anything, tell me.”

“You. To show you.” Blaine looked into his eyes, desperate and wanting, holding Kurt's cheek in one hand.

He maneuvered Kurt onto his back, kissing a trail down his neck, across his chest, pausing to suck wet kisses over Kurt's collar bone and further, lips ghosting over the fine down that tracked down Kurt's abdomen and lower.

“N-no, it's okay, you don't have to--”

“Shh. I know I don't have to, I want to. Let me?”

Kurt's stomach muscles were trembling as he looked down his body at Blaine; he ran his fingers through Blaine's curls, saw tenderness and...was it nervousness? Was Blaine worried that Kurt would keep a wall up, keep him out? Blaine turned his face to Kurt's side, drawing his lips along the sensitive skin stretched over his ribcage. Kurt let his head fall back, his hand still working through Blaine's hair, wanting all of Blaine, too. “Please.”

Blaine nosed along Kurt's length before sucking it into his mouth through the soft silk of Kurt's pajamas, encasing him in the material's cool, slick warmth. Kurt arched his back, unable to control his need for more, groaning.

“God, Kurt, I've wanted this for so long.”

Kurt's ears were burning, his chest heaving, as Blaine, sliding Kurt's pants over and down his hips, muttered sweet everythings against his skin, holding him, tasting him, treasuring him. That lonely little corner of Kurt’s soul was slowly being filled with every touch, every murmur of approval and desire Blaine gave him. Kurt let himself go, let himself enjoy the act without worry, and allowed himself the right to be loved. He felt a part of something larger than himself for the first time; he wanted to be swept away by it.

Blaine enveloped his whole body, it seemed; every part of him felt touched, wanted, needed as Blaine kissed and sucked and held him. “So beautiful, Kurt. You're just for me, aren't you?”

Kurt's heart thudded; his eyes prickled. He gasped out, “Oh, yes,” as he felt a pressure building up low in his spine. He buried his hands in Blaine's hair, curling up, cradling Blaine's head in his arm. “Blaine, I'm so close.”

Blaine pulled off, keeping a hand as a place marker, keeping Kurt warm and loved, and as he kissed the fine hairs under Kurt's navel, asked, “Is...that okay?” as his hand slipped lower, thumb encircling the tender skin below.

Kurt groaned and fell back against the pillows. “Oh my god, yes...We don't have to if--you don't...”

Blaine sucked his thumb into his mouth, returning it to its circling, rubbing and pressing against Kurt's entrance. “But if I wanted to, would you?”

Kurt raised his head off the pillows, seeing dark curls slipping between his thighs, a warm and wholly welcomed sensation flooding him as Blaine replaced his thumb with his mouth, hot and wet. “Okay...okay. Yes.”

Blaine pulled back and sucked a finger into his mouth, earning a wanton groan from Kurt as he fell back again, helpless against the onslaught of feeling pulsing through him as Blaine worked one, then two fingers in, so gentle, sweet words exhaled from kisses along his thigh, his groin, his cock, his belly as Blaine continued to pulse his fingers steadily in and out, looking for the right combination to unlock Kurt.

Kurt gave out a sharp cry, his leg fluttering against the bedclothes as Blaine stroked and pressed. Blaine broke away, running the flat of his hand up Kurt's torso, his eyes an apology. “Too much? I'm sorry--”

“No, god, no that's...please don't stop, Blaine, please.”

“No. Okay, shit... Kurt,” Blaine groaned against Kurt's skin, nipping slightly with his teeth at the tender skin of Kurt's inner thigh, before sucking a kiss to soothe, his fingers resuming their steady thrusting, adding more pressure with a third finger. Kurt felt like he would either explode out of his skin or crawl out, if Blaine didn't address the growing need within.

“Where? Blaine, where do you...”

Blaine stopped sucking along Kurt's hipbone long enough to say, “Top drawer, right.”

Kurt stopped reaching as his body arched yet again, Blaine's fingers pressing so deeply, so insistently inside, that Kurt couldn't help from groaning out loud.

“God, Kurt, do you know what you're doing to me?”

Kurt tugged on Blaine's arms to get him to move, finally sitting up against the headboard and feeling watery, like his bones had been liquefied. Kurt pawed through the drawer, his fingers looking for the familiar foil packet and small bottle, then thrusting a small bottle into Blaine's hands before kissing him wetly, his tongue mimicking what he longed for. Blaine slicked himself up as Kurt tugged on his shoulders, bringing him closer so he could continue kissing him.

Snaking an arm around his waist, Blaine caught Kurt's free hand with the other, placing a sweet kiss on Kurt's knuckles. Kurt turned in his arms, pulling Blaine's hand up to his chest, twisting back to catch him in another kiss. “You're doing the same thing to me.”

Blaine laid his cheek against Kurt's shoulder, holding him tightly for a moment. He began kissing the back of Kurt's neck, between his shoulder blades, behind his ear. “So much, I've wanted this, wanted you.”

Kurt reached overhead and behind to wrap Blaine's head close, to hold him against him as Blaine slipped his cock between Kurt's thighs, stroking himself back and forth. Kurt felt him pull back further, losing that slick, warm sensation before it was replaced with tight pressure, Blaine's mouth against his ear, making sure it was okay, that Kurt wanted this.

“Yes, please...Blaine.

Slowly, almost agonizingly slowly, Blaine pressed forward, his cheek pressed against Kurt's back. Kurt threw his hands against the wall, holding himself upright as Blaine slid in, inch by inch. Blaine looped fingers with Kurt's against the wall, mouthing needy kisses along Kurt's neck, on his hair, his forehead resting against the nape of Kurt's neck as his hips sought a rhythm.

Kurt clutched at one of Blaine’s hands at his chest when the shocking pressure of being entered gave way to pleasure. He hung his head forward; all of his energy was focused on the sensation of being filled by Blaine until it grew into a pulsing warmth that radiated throughout his entire body. He let himself go, let himself enjoy himself with Blaine; no more worrying about how Blaine felt about him. No more fears of being hurt, of not being enough, of any what if’s.

“Oh my god, Blaine, right-- Oh, right there.”

Kurt fell silent save for the gasps of air forced out of him with every thrust, Blaine holding him close, whispering his name over and over. Kurt felt completely enveloped by Blaine's desire, warm at his back, Blaine's rough hand over his heart; they joined hands around Kurt's cock, stroking him towards his own climax as Blaine's thrusts became more insistent, more focused on that one spot that had Kurt crying out until he finally was spilling over their coupled hands.

He clutched at Blaine's arm at his chest, arching his back as his body began to come back to earth. Pressing his forehead into Blaine's neck, he moaned brokenly as Blaine thrust once, twice more, burying himself completely inside Kurt, his body shaking with the force of his own orgasm.

They held each other, catching their breath, until Blaine was able to slip free, leaving Kurt feeling suddenly empty and cold. Blaine tied off the condom, pulled a tissue to clean Kurt's chest, and slid under the blanket, gathering Kurt close to him with a happy sigh. Kurt kissed his neck, humming a bit as Blaine settled their bodies as close as possible, his hands roaming all over Kurt's body, as if to make sure he was real.

Kurt sighed at the warmth and contentment, at the blissful pleasure he was consumed with when wrapped up with this man. He traced lazy patterns across Blaine's chest, nosing along the underside of Blaine's jaw. “That was...” he exhaled, laughing a little, “you are amazing.”

Blaine wrapped both arms tightly around Kurt, his hands stroking Kurt's skin, keeping him warm and close. “Mm, it's you. It's only you.” He kissed Kurt's hair, nuzzling into his. Kurt knitted their legs together, wanting to keep their bodies as entwined as possible, not willing to lose the connection for a moment.

“Don't you understand what you've done for me?” Blaine whispered into Kurt's hair.

Kurt was confused. His hand stuttered in its circuitous path along Blaine's chest, pulling back to look into his face, questioning. Blaine, with a breathy laugh, scrubbed his face and pulled on Kurt to bring their bodies together, eye to eye, mouth to mouth, heart to heart. “That first night, when I saw you leaving the pub before I’d gotten the courage to ask you out... It was like you woke me up. I didn’t want to be with anyone, hadn’t wanted that. But then there was this attractive man with the most amazing laugh and smile that sort of messed all of that up for me.” Kurt could feel Blaine’s smile against his mouth as they kissed.

Blaine ran his hand through Kurt’s hair; he continued, “You've reminded me there's more than the life I was living - if you could even call it that. There's love. And that I want it. That I need it.”

Kurt was laid bare, his heart full and he saw a mirror to himself in Blaine's face. He closed his eyes, pressed a gentle kiss to Blaine's mouth. Kurt's heart gave an aching thump as Blaine whispered his name once last time before falling asleep. Kurt watched his face relax completely, chest aching with the power of his affection. La petite mort. They stayed wrapped in each others' love as they both drifted off to sleep.

* * * * *

Kurt woke a few hours later with a crick in his shoulder. He turned his head to see why and found his hand wrapped in Blaine's, curled up on Blaine's bare chest. Kurt evidently had rolled away at some point, hyper-extending his arm. He did the only sensible thing – he rolled back towards Blaine.

Blaine was still sound asleep. His lips were parted, and Kurt noted that he had the tiniest of snores, more of an exhaled rumbling buzz. Kurt propped himself up on Blaine's chest and watched him sleep for a minute, amused by the little lip-smacks and grumbles when the snoring ended.

“This might be a problem for me if you do this every time you sleep,” Kurt whispered.

“Nuh uh, don't.”

Kurt startled, but Blaine went right back to his soft snoring, as if he hadn't just said something out loud. Kurt narrowed his eyes, smirking. Oh, this could be fun.

Very quietly, “Blaine.”

“Mm.”

“Are you sleeping?”

“Yeah.” Blaine answered on his exhale, barely audible.

“Do you snore?”

Lip-smack. “No.”

Kurt waited a minute, watching to see if Blaine was just pulling his leg. Evidently not as he started his soft mumble-snoring again, not moving at all. Kurt hung his head, trying to not laugh out loud. He carefully extricated himself from Blaine's grasp, then leaned near Blaine's ear and whispered, “I think I'll keep you.”

“Mm, yes, please.”

It was difficult for Kurt to keep quiet and not pounce onto Blaine to wake him up for “You are the most adorable thing ever” kisses as he quietly climbed out of the bed. He slipped into the bathroom with his pajama pants and packed toiletry bag to freshen up. He looked at his reflection in the mirror before brushing his teeth, actually looking at himself. Not at his hair, or that spot next to his nose that sometimes looked red and irritated, not at the pores under his bottom lip. He looked into the mirror and saw a young man that looked very happy. Hmm, with really crazy bed head.

He left the toothbrush hanging in his mouth and tried to brush his hair back into something less disheveled. He stopped, spit out his toothpaste, and said to his reflection, “He made you look like that; he's not going to care if it's messed up.” He began to blush a little, laughed at himself and rinsed out the sink.

He stood in the doorway, his gaze softening as he watched Blaine, seemingly dead to the world, sleep. He must be so tired from last night. He debated whether or not he should wait for Blaine to wake before leaving, or if he should just stay, would it be weird for him to still be here, hanging out and awake when Blaine finally did wake up? He quietly tip-toed to the other side of the bed to gather up some of his things that had been tossed aside and stepped on a squeaky board. Kurt froze.

Blaine's eyes snapped awake as he inhaled and said loudly, “I'm up.”

“Oh, Blaine, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to wake you. How the hell did I wake you? You were out cold!”

Blaine yawned and scrubbed at his face. “Training, sorry. Something you get used to, waking up in an instant.” He stretched his arms overhead, the blanket slipping down to his navel. Kurt had the urge to kiss him right along the edge of the blanket lying on Blaine's hips, but was snapped out of his thought when Blaine asked, “You got dressed?”

Kurt looked down at himself, shirtless but for his silk pajama bottoms, a little worse for the wear. “Well, I have a rule about naked roaming. In that I try to not do that.”

Blaine cocked an eyebrow. “Do you have a rule about being naked in bed?”

“Thankfully, no.”

Blaine whipped one corner of the blankets away, giving Kurt space to crawl back in. Kurt, humming softly, started to slide in when Blaine whistled sharply. “Uh, uh, uh, you said there was no rule about naked bed time. Are you going to leave me all vulnerable here?” He looked so hangdog pathetic that Kurt couldn't help but laugh. He bit the inside of his cheek, rolled his eyes playfully, and slid his pants back off in one quick, fluid movement and hopped quickly into the bed. Naked during the heat of passion was one thing, but getting naked in the bright light of noon-day sun was another.

Blaine tugged his hand to bring Kurt closer. Kurt draped one leg between Blaine's, resting his chin on his hands at Blaine's chest.

“See? Much more fair.” Blaine ran his hand down Kurt's back, cupping his backside and giving it a squeeze. “Kurt, and I mean this is the most non-creepy way possible, but you have the most amazing ass. Whole body, really, it's just... you shouldn't be allowed to wear clothes. It's cruel, is what it is.”

Kurt shook with laughter, burying his face in his arms, red to the tips of his ears. “I happen to like my clothes,” he said, trying to hide his blush because really, who says things like that? And who says them to Kurt Hummel? Part of him wanted Blaine to change the the subject, but a small, needy part of him that he'd almost given up on wanted Blaine to keep talking.

Blaine continued his exploration of Kurt's back and elsewhere with both of his hands, murmuring appreciatively. “Mm, you have a point. You do look exquisite in your clothing. But I must say, having seen the other option, I think I have a clear preference.”

“Mm. So you know, I'm going to need some answers before we take this relationship any further, Captain Anderson.”

Blaine's hands stilled until Kurt kissed his chest noisily. “Stop getting worried. I just want to know if you are aware that you snore?”

“I do not!”

“Oh, yes, you do. It's not loud; it's just the quietest little snuffling,” Kurt explained, nosing along Blaine's jawline. “I ask because I have some fabulous ear plugs, purchased during Rachel's opera-training stint.”

Blaine stretched his arms overhead with a noisy groan, then quickly wrapped his arms back across Kurt's back. “Oh, that. That's just me being stuffy after a fire. That's from all the smoke. The ventilators can't get it all, especially when we go in without them at the start, like last night.”

“Oh. Right.” Kurt bit his lip. As much as he wanted to revel in the languid, boneless feeling of lying here – finally – with Blaine, he knew that he needed to be fully prepared. “Blaine, I--” Kurt sighed heavily, running his fingertips over and around the darkened skin of Blaine's areola. “I was really scared last night, scared for you.”

“I know.” Blaine held him tighter. “I don't know what else to say, though. Last night was kind of your baptism by fire.”

“Ha. Just--” Kurt paused. “--know that I don't think I can be in the same room with those sirens again; that is far too loud for me to take on a regular basis.” Blaine laughed, causing Kurt to smile and lay his cheek back on Blaine's chest. “”And I don't want to lose you.”

They were quiet for a few moments, holding each other.

“I really care about you, Blaine. I don't know that I've ever been that worried for someone that I didn't lo--” Kurt flushed deeply, pressing his lips together. Courage. He kissed the center of Blaine's chest, needing to express himself physically. “I worry about people I love. I worry about you.” He looked up to see Blaine staring at him, lips slightly parted. He looked like he was holding his breath, waiting for Kurt to continue.

“I don't want to waste a minute,” Kurt said, softly. “I'm not going to lie to you, I'm terrified here.”

Blaine raked his fingers through Kurt's hair. He closed his eyes and felt Blaine's breathing stutter, then level out. “How terrified?”

Kurt gave him a stern look. “Terrified enough that I want to put a tracking device on you at all times.”

Chuckling, Blaine replied, “Well, we have those, but they're for dispatch to track, sorry.”

Kurt sat up. “Really?”

“Yeah. If we're not moving for a long time, or the oxygen levels plummet, it sends a signal. Things have really changed over the past year or so.”

Kurt looked off in the middle distance, thinking as one hand idly stroked along Blaine's chest. “So, someone always knows if you're okay or not?”

Blaine put an arm behind his head, looking up at Kurt. “Always. But,” he said, dragging the back of his fingers down the center of Kurt's chest, “it's nice having someone like you care. I love that you care, Kurt.”

Kurt smiled, feeling a connection building between them that let him know he could fly away with the the heady joy of loving someone because he was realizing that had a tether. A tether to this amazing person, who just so happened to feel the same, amazingly enough. “I do, Blaine. I really do.”

Blaine closed his eyes, smiling gently as he held his arms out, waiting for Kurt to lay back with him. They laid in each others arms, sometimes kissing, sometimes just breathing each other in, Kurt almost undone by the overwhelming feelings of connection, how right and necessary it felt to be with Blaine. They both stretched and curled up on their sides, facing each other with shy looks and laughs. Kurt inhaled deeply, trailed a finger from Blaine's temple down his neck, to rest on the bed near Blaine's hand. He took it in his own as Kurt began to speak, struggling to find the right words.

“Have you ever been to the Lost and Found and see just that one glove? Or...hmm. When you're driving and there's just a shoe. Not both, not the pair, just the one. And it looks almost pathetic? Or lonely. That's what it is, it looks lonely, separated from what it belonged to.”

Blaine closed his eyes and leaned forward, pressing a firm kiss to Kurt's forehead.

“It's really upsetting when it's a good shoe,” Kurt laughed, buying himself a minute. He reminded himself that he was safe here with Blaine, that he could talk to him – really talk to him - and not be rejected. He took a steadying breath, gave Blaine's hand a squeeze, smiling as Blaine gave him one in return, and continued. “I think I've felt like that for most of my life. Like this fabulous shoe that's been lost, looking for the right match.”

Blaine brought their linked hands to his mouth, resting Kurt's knuckles against his lips, not looking at Kurt, just holding it there, eyes closed. Kurt felt his heart race, instantly worried he'd gone too far.

“I'm just saying, I don't mean to imply-”

“Kurt,” Blaine interrupted. Blaine looked into Kurt's eyes and he saw longing looking back. Kurt let out a shuddery breath.

“Kurt, I--I know what you mean. Something isn't right, or it's just not complete, but you don't know what it is. I've felt like that most of my life, too. Like I left the house without bringing something I needed, but I couldn't remember what it was. It's like there's been a piece of myself missing.”

Kurt held his breath, desperate to hear the rest, a tiny part of him still terrified by what he was afraid he would hear. He'd been alone for so long; it was still a little hard for him to accept that Blaine wanted him, wanted to be with him.

Blaine held Kurt's face in one hand, smiling lopsidedly. “It turns out that the missing part of me was you.”

Kurt exhaled slowly, saying, “I feel like I'm having the most amazing nitrous oxide dream ever; how are you real?”

Blaine laid his head on Kurt's bare shoulder, laughing, “I could ask you the same. I mean, it's pretty unfair.”

Kurt brushed his hand through Blaine's hair. “What do you mean?”

“It's pretty unfair to be who you are, so sweet, I mean, the way you helped me last night? And then you look like you do, and you expect me to form complete sentences, Kurt? Honestly.”

“Oh my god,” Kurt laughed, rolling away. “I'm not even wearing anything right now!”

“Exactly,” Blaine answered, trailing his fingers up Kurt's side. “Hey.” Blaine rolled Kurt onto his back, hovering over him with his weight on his hands. “Kurt. Do you know what I thought when I saw you the first time?”

Kurt held his breath, hardly believing this was an actual conversation and not just a fantasy as he stood in his kitchen bored, whipping up a batch of seven minute frosting.

“I couldn't believe that someone like you was right there, smiling at me--” Blaine dipped his head down to kiss Kurt's mouth. “--and even more than that, you knew about changing the batteries in your fire detectors.” Blaine closed his eyes and comically sighed. Kurt shoved at his chest, laughing.

Blaine went still, looking deep into Kurt's eyes before fixing on his mouth. “I couldn't believe someone like you would flirt with me, would want me. Kurt, I think you're beautiful. You're... overwhelming.”

Kurt wanted to pull the blankets over his head and disappear, wanted to melt into a puddle, definitely wanted to reach up and pull Blaine to his body, kissing him with abandon. He made the right decision, he thought, given the mewls from back in Blaine's throat as he slipped his tongue into Blaine's mouth, wrapping a leg around around him to hold him close.

“Mm, like right here,” Blaine whispered, breaking away. “I could taste this part of you forever.” He dragged his open mouth up the length of Kurt's neck, sending chills up and down his body. When Blaine's fingertips trailed down Kurt's sides, he couldn't help but squeak out a laugh.

“Ticklish, hmm?” Blaine had a decidedly naughty look in his eyes.

“No,” Kurt replied quickly, pushing Blaine up and keeping him at arm's length. “Nonono, I'm not at all, and you shouldn't experiment. Because it's a waste of your time.”

Blaine dipped his head and sucked a kiss on the inside of Kurt's forearm. “Too bad. I sort of have a thing for watching you laugh.”

“Then thrill me with your wit; you're going to have to work for it, not rely on cheap tactics.”

Blaine grabbed Kurt's hands, pressed their chests together and whispered in his ear, “What's green and sticky?”

Kurt started laughing. “Oh my god...”

“A stick.”

Kurt was shoving at Blaine's chest, laughing, as Blaine slid his hands under Kurt, holding them tightly together.

“ Two guys walk into a bar...”

“Blaine!”

“...but the third guy ducked.”

“You are the corniest... I said wit, thrill me with your wit!”

Blaine stretched back, grinning from ear to ear. “Got you to laugh. Mission accomplished.”

“I had no idea you were such a...dork. This changes everything,” Kurt sighed dramatically.

“I haven't even started on all the lame firefighter jokes.”

Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine, kissing his shoulder. “Such a dork.”

“Come on,” Blaine said, rolling off Kurt and getting to his feet. “Let's go eat. I'm so hungry.”

Kurt took Blaine's offered hand. “With all of that food you ate earlier?”

“Hey, I happen to burn a lot of calories at work.”

“So I'm work, now?”

Blaine was caught off guard and barked out a laugh. Kurt preened, handing over Blaine's pants before slipping into his own. “Wit.”

He stood, arms folded, smiling over at Blaine as he pulled on a t-shirt, Kurt imaging a thousand mornings and a thousand shirts, but always Blaine. I knew the first minute I laid eyes on your mother. Blaine stepped aside, letting Kurt go through the doorway first, running his hand down Kurt's back as he passed by.

“I think it's time you cooked for me.”

“Blaine Anderson, I already have!” Kurt spun around and poked a finger in Blaine's chest, who caught it and held it close. “How can you not remember when I brought cookies to the station? Cookies you specifically asked for, if I remember correctly.”

Blaine's smile was far away and moony. “I have dreams about those cookies.”

Laughing softly, Kurt dropped his forehead to Blaine's shoulder. “Remind me to make you some more, sometime.”

“Okay. Please make me some more, sometime.”

“Not this time, sometime. And I don’t think I have the energy to crack an egg, let alone make a few dozen cookies for you. You’re going to have to give me a few hours to fully recover.”

They wandered into the kitchen. Kurt watched as Blaine opened cupboards and the refrigerator, looking for things to cook, asking Kurt about different food options. Kurt propped his head on his hand, smiling as a sense of belonging filled him. It felt like he'd always been here. We Hummels, we know what we want.

“Mm, I do know what I want,” Kurt murmured.

“What's that?”

Kurt blushed, rewinding through Blaine's questions about what he would like to eat. “Oh, um, I said I want that, too.”

Blaine kissed him on the cheek and pulled out the bag of pasta. “Little olive oil, some shallots, mushrooms?”

Kurt watched Blaine move about the kitchen as he prepared to cook for them, looking so relaxed and sated. He pushed off the counter to slip his arms around Blaine's waist, kissing him at the base of his neck. “That sounds perfect.”

It was like his father had said about knowing if it was love, “You know it is, or you know it isn't.”

It is.

* * * * *

Kurt's phone was buzzing, but the last thing he wanted to do was get up and answer it. He was snuggled up with Blaine on the over-sized sofa as Blaine caught up on some Bravo TV. Kurt wasn't being much help in this endeavor as he kept finding himself skimming a hand up under Blaine's shirt or pressing his lips on the little patch of skin behind Blaine's ear that made him moan and writhe, and whatever reality show was presently on didn't hold a candle to Kurt Hummel and his Amazing Lips. At least, that's what Blaine had told him after a particularly long break in television watching.

“Do you need to get that? I don't mean to hold you hostage; I know you probably didn't plan on being here all day.”

Kurt stretched his limbs like a cat then curled back up against Blaine. “If we say you're holding me hostage, I could buy a few more days of not having to deal with a difficult client.” He smiled into Blaine's chest. There were times when it really sucked being responsible.

Sighing heavily, he climbed off the sofa to grab his phone on the console near the front door. Five missed calls, eight texts, and most of them were from Rachel. He did feel a pang of guilt for not calling her back, but he knew she'd understand. His phone was at 2% power, so he could maybe fake that his phone had died if she pressed things.

Blaine had gotten quietly to his feet and wrapped Kurt up in a hug from behind. “Need to go?”

He leaned his head back on Blaine's shoulder. “I need to, but I don't want to.” He pulled away, laying his palms on Blaine's chest, thumbs stroking softly back and forth, willing his own needs into Blaine's skin with each pass. “But it's not like this was just today. Right?”

Blaine kissed each of his temples. “Right. Not just today.”

“Okay. Because there is still a tiny part of me that's waiting for you to pull the rug out from under me,” Kurt said, focusing intently on the neckline of Blaine's shirt instead of looking in his eyes.

“Why on earth--. Kurt.”

Kurt bit his bottom lip, trying to keep himself in check. “It's...this has been a perfect day, Blaine. Perfect. And you-- I don't usually end up with a happy story, is all. I end up being the best friend, the sassy side kick or the one that sets up the guy I'm interested in with some dull pretty boy. I'm not used to being the one chosen.” He felt like it was a bit of a cheap shot, wanting Blaine to prove him wrong, but it was true. He wasn't used to any of this.

Blaine cupped his cheek, as Kurt searched his face for any hint of being right.

Stop panicking. He's not shoving you out the door. Kurt let out a tremulous breath, a small smile on his face as he said, “So, I'm trying to remind myself that this is just us hitting the pause button.”

“I don't know what the people are like where you're from, or the people you've known here, but...how can you be the funny, sweet, attentive person that you are--” Blaine kissed the corner of his mouth. “--and looking the way you do, and not know how amazed I am to even have your attention?” Blaine shook his head, closing his eyes.

Kurt kissed Blaine's lips softly, lingering. “You have more than my attention.”

“I'm the luckiest guy in the world.”

Kurt laughed as Blaine gathered him up in a tight hug feeling much better, not so bubble-about-to-pop. This wasn't the end, this was a real beginning. If he kept telling himself that, he thought he could believe it.

Kurt noticed a well-worn metal plaque mounted on the wall behind Blaine's shoulder by the front door. They broke apart as Kurt said, “I have some brass polish that could take the smudges off that for you, if you'd like.”

Blaine looked at him confused for a moment, then turned to see what it was Kurt had nodded at. “Oh, no, thank you, but...” Blaine ran a finger down the side of the plaque. Kurt, curious, leaned forward, seeing that it was titled, “A Fireman's Prayer,” and had a poem underneath. The brass was tarnished with what looked like years of fingerprints.

“My mother gave that to my dad when he graduated from the academy. They hung it by the front door, and she made him touch it every time he left to go to work. Anytime she knew he had a call, she would come here to touch it and say a little something for him. It's silly, I know, but--”

“I don't think that's silly at all. I think it's sweet.” Something tugged at Kurt's heart, thinking of the devotion Blaine's mother had for his father, and how that love created him. For all of the Elder Anderson's faults, he had engendered devotion in his wife and son, and Kurt wanted to at least acknowledge that, no matter how he felt about the man that had give Blaine so much self-doubt.

Blaine smiled gratefully at him as Kurt read the poem, muttering the words under his breath.

“When I am called to Duty, God
Wherever flames may rage
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age

Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save some older person
From the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out

I want to fill my calling
And to give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect his property

And if according to our fate
I have to lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting hand,
My children and my wife.”

Kurt mentally hand-waved the whole “God” notion, even though he appreciated the sentiment of wishing well of those left behind. “Hmm, that last bit could use some reworking,” he murmured. “I wonder what Sonja thinks about it.”

Blaine shrugged. “It's been an old boys' club for a long time, they don't think about that sort of thing. I mean, this is in every fire house all over.”

“Well,” he replied, linking his arms back around Blaine's neck. “I still think it's sweet of your mother; that's very romantic.” He also thought to himself about how Blaine's mother didn't take it with her back to Manila. Most likely it served as a painful and constant reminder of how she lost her husband.

Kurt's phone buzzed with another text. He groaned when he saw it was from Peter. “Okay, if I don't start moving, I'm going to drag you back onto that sofa, never move from it, and lose my job. Wait, why is that a bad idea?”

Blaine laughed and moved back, hands up to allow Kurt safe passage to gather his things.

They met back at the front door for another lingering kiss. Blaine murmured against Kurt's lips, “Will you call me later? Once you have everything under control?”

Kurt dashed a quick kiss to Blaine's cheek and smoothed the front of Blaine's shirt. “Yes. You can count on that.”

Blaine pulled him back for a hug and walked them back to the door, Kurt laughing when he almost lost his balance at the threshold. Blaine leaned against the door frame, pouting a little as Kurt backed out.

“Oh, wait you forgot something!” Blaine called out.

Kurt turned back to the door, and Blaine grabbed him for another kiss. Kurt sagged against him, laughing. “You have to stop being adorable, or I'm never leaving.”

“Okay, okay. Call me later.”

Kurt's face ached from smiling as he backed down the stairs, watching Blaine grinning back through the crack in the door as he slowly shut it.

“Such a dork,” he muttered as he hitched his bag over his shoulder, chuckling. And he's mine.

Kurt hardly noticed the traffic, the heat of the afternoon, or the beeping of his phone as it slowly died. He was too busy replaying his past day with Blaine, how he felt wanted and so, so excited to be a part of something new and wonderful. He sailed into his house, plugged his phone in, and after a moment to let it start recharging, saw that he had received a few texts from Blaine in the twenty minutes it had taken to walk home.

I miss you.

A minute later, You have more than my attention, too.

Seven minutes ago, I have so many bad jokes to share. It'll take a long time to get through them all. Lucky you. :)

Kurt beamed at the phone in his hands. Okay, maybe he really could let go some of stupid worries that this wasn't the beginning of something real. He texted back, Don't even THINK of forcing me to listen to any knock-knock jokes. I'll sic Rachel and her Sonny and Cher DVDs on you.

He fired up his laptop, groaning at the thought of yet another costume he would have to “repair” for Giovanna when another text came through.

<3

His breath caught; it was just a silly emoticon, he told himself, but he couldn't bring himself to turn the screen off just yet. He set it by his sketch pad and went to work. Any time he felt angry or irritated by the demands of a certain diva, he would touch the screen to light up the heart Blaine had sent him.

Kurt was pretty sure Blaine already had his.

I jumped when I got this in my email - I had carefully scheduled my night in anticipation for this at like 11ish PM my time, but suddenly here it was!!!!! An hour early, 10+k words and rated NC-17, HELLO. *_____*

I read this as slowly as I could, just relishing in the happiness and absolute wonder of it all, god, I'm crying at the thought of the rest of their lives being just like this, sweet and intimate and sexy and funny, too, full of affection and teasing and super hot sex and these beautiful boys overflowing with complete and unparalleled joy. They have gone through so much, individually, casually neglected and lonely for a long, long time, and of course that isn't going to go away all that quickly even in the face of such a magical day - it helps that they will always be 110% eager to reassure and calm each other down. I love so, so much that Kurt finally just let himself fall into it, feel it, because he has been waiting and holding back and he deserves this, they both do.

And jsyk: "I can't have this be over so quickly" / It's not, it won't" and "You're just for me, aren't you?" absolutely KILLED ME. God. They're beautiful. They're so in love. And they are going to last forever. This is stunning work.

I haven't been able to comment until now for many reasons (mainly spotty internet) but please KNOW that this is one of the most achingly romantic things I have ever read.

I feel like it's almost necessary (because I'm a writer myself and I know the gratitude and wonderful way someone's true comments about my work can feel) to be very honest with you.

I sobbed like a pathetic baby reading this installment. I've been dedicated to reading every day no matter where I am (and my poor poor Blackberry has paid for that!) and it has had me hooked and clinging to every word ... not to mention my puppy dog sighs when the chapter ends.

I am in my early twenties and, reading this, has made me so wistful. Being honest, I have such issues with intimacy and I've never had a relationship. That world scares me so much that I avoid it. I'm the soppiest most shameful romantic there is (and I know you recognise yourself as that kind of person too from your notes) and I truly have lightyears worth of love to give but I've never done that or felt even an iota of that you portray here. I've never had what you describe so perfectly in this story and, to me, I can't help but cry when I read it. It's a testement to your wonderful description of feelings and closeness and intimacy that makes me almost SAD that I've never been lucky enough to share that in my life.

I hope I'll have the chance some day and I can push past any issue I have but I know that it will be a long time before that happens because a guy would have to be pretty spectacular to take me on (ha!). I just wanted you to know how special this story is and how wonderfully you've captured what I presume is every single beautiful feeling one would get when you meet someone you can see yourself loving.

Thank you for such a truly touching and sweet and WITTY story. Thank you for it's realism and the relationship between Kurt and Rachel (I'm a major Hummelberry fan). Just thank you for writing it and know you have a fan in me. I can't wait to read the rest of it.

I hope you don't mind me sending this to you and being so shamefully honest but, as I said, I know how it feels to hear someone's true opinion of something I've written and your words touched me enough to bring me to write this to you :D

how did you get into my head?!?! we are the same person. i feel the same way you just described. i'm 21 and i've never been kissed, never been on a date with a guy, never even had a conversation with a guy. i believe the love that kurt and blaine have is out there for us. and we'll find it one day or it will find us. we might have to wait until we find ourselves first but it will all be worth it. course i'm not a patient person, even though i may seem like it to people, but i'm hoping it will be worth the wait. sorry if this is creepy to reply but what you wrote is basically how i feel and it makes me feel better that i am not alone in my feelings. :)

to the author: This is my favorite klaine story i have every read. it pulls at my heart strings and i can feel every emotion written. never stop writing. you have a gift :)

Oh, I love how deliberate Kurt was about going to Blaine's. He really took the instinctive choice he made last chapter and owned it . . . and the results were so sweet and sexy and intimate, I almost felt guilty for intruding by reading! The way they moved so naturally between moments of affectionate teasing and seriously-hot sex and heart-wrenching honesty was just perfect. Now that they're both really, consciously on board, it comes across so clearly that it's not just that they've found something amazing with each other, it's that they're building something amazing with each other. Oh, boys. Oh, you! <3

OKAY. Let me just tell you about how it felt intimate because it took me three days to write it because I felt that way, ha ha ha! I LOVE that it felt so close and personal, that's awesome. Thank you for that.

THEY ARE BUILDING A FUTURE, YES YES YES! XOXOX

I just want to say that I am overseas rn, and I am literally camped out on the floor of the business center at my hotel, reading this. Amazing update as always.

I really love this story, and you will get a more coherent review later :P

I literally could not stop smiling throughout this chapter! My face hurts... And it's all your fault! :P I don't mind though. I had to pause to have the right music a few times (I think once 'Jealousy' by Darren came on, and it just did not make sense to have that on during the amazing parts!). Kurt's version of 'I want to hold your hand' started playing just at the part where Blaine was snoring in his sleep (soooo cute <3) and right after, Darren's 'Don't You' came on, I thought it was perfect! (iTunes is all knowing once again!) Everything is so perfect! -le sigh- I love it all! Definitely one of my favorite chapters! :3

Thank you. I'm super glad it's still working for you. *hugs*

He wanted to give something back to Blaine, to show him that he mattered, that Kurt wanted him every bit as he wanted Kurt. That they weren't alone anymore.
OMG. You hit it out of the ballpark. Best description of the why of sex ever.

Kurt held his breath, hardly believing this was an actual conversation and not just a fantasy as he stood in his kitchen bored, whipping up a batch of seven minute frosting.
Loved that. Totally captures the wonder and the "OMG how can this be real?" of new love.

It's so funny how I feel like I'm reading my life story, even though hello, I'm not dating a firefighter or living in New York, not from Ohio, not Blaine, not Kurt (okay, well maybe I'm Kurt, a little). But the emotional tenor of falling in love as an adult - well, this captures everything for me.

I'm glad you're enjoying this! I am in love with falling in love (the concept, I'm not a serial dater, or anything, ha) so it's gratifying to hear that I'm getting those emotions in there. THANK YOU.

Perfect. I really don't have anything else to say about it. It was so tender, so loving and beautiful. Seriously, that wasn't at all like the smutty scenes I'm used to by now (especially in this fandom), but I loved every word. Gosh, these two deserve a happy ending! <3 You're such a talented writer, damn. This story is wonderful in so, so many ways that my heart's kind of bursting with feelings! *____*

WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE MY LOVE FOR THIS FIC, THEY JUST CAN'T.

It's like, when you're reading or watching a great love story and you're just smiling, and crying and clutching at your heart the whole time (and I did all of these things while reading this chapter) because you would just kill to experiences that kind of love? Sigh, I am so cheesy, but I love you for writing this. It's seriously made my week. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. Okay, I'll stop gushing now lol.

Okay, I saw the rating, jumped for joy and immediately stopped eating breakfast. So you've managed to separate me from food (I swear I'm not a pig!....okay, I am a pig)

So so so beautiful. So hot and then you've wound it down to something that's just simmering and content and gorgeous. Honestly, the amount of love and desire you infuse in these two boys is wonderful.

And dorky Klaine? <3 my response? ----> love makes us act like we are fools

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
