  1. It's been exactly 2 years and one week since I brought Hey, Don't Judge Me online. :)
  2. Y'all should know by now that my whole point in creating HDJM was to make a place that was negativity-free for fangirls to share their fannish love of things without feat of TWoP smack downs, mocking, etc. There aren't many places online that promise that, so that's my #1 goal with the site, and I've tried to be faithful to that, with Twilight being the (obvious) exception.
  3. Because of that, I have absolutely struggled for over a month, now, about recapping a particular show that has made me sad, angry, and incredibly miserable. Which is ironic, as the show is "Glee." Yeah, I know, y'all knew all along that blah blah. here's the thing: I don't want to bad mouth, even now. I don't want to hear other people bitch about it. I just don't want to be involved with the show now. I might change my mind and come back to it for recaps, but as of now: I am no longer recapping Glee on HDJM.
  4. Please stop PMing, emailing, tracking me down via twitter, tumblr and FB to ask when I'm going to get to that. I'm not. Life is short (and currently stressful) and I don't want to force myself to do something that makes me miserable just so someone can have a quick read over their coffee.
  5. I would also like to remind the general public that I (and my girls) write on HDJM for free. Actually, I pay for the privilege of writing on HDJM, because I pay all the hosting costs (and I pay for a private server/VPN now because of the DDoS attacks last summer, and those are a few hundred dollars a year), and used to pay my writers out of my own pocket when we didn't have donations. I've been incredibly grateful for the donations we've received over the past two years, but those dried up a while ago. Fair enough, and I'm not complaining that they did, please note. I say this to illustrate a point: it's rude to demand even more free stuff from people that are already doing all they can to make a place for you to enjoy.
  6. A year ago, I was in NYC with flaming_muse at Lupa, Mario Batali's restaurant, where I had one of the best meals of my life. Truly. I had his oxtail ragu over fresh pasta, and it was transcendent. Problem: every recipe I've found online or in books isn't the recipe to that dish. Mario is a tricksy little hobbit. HOWEVER. I found a series of video interviews where he talks about that dish in particular, and have pieced the recipe together. For the past 2 days I've been making this fantastic ragu, and HOLY SHEEP BALLS. I wish I could Floo Network a bowl to each of you, because it's outstanding.
  7. I'll post the recipe this afternoon if anyone wants to bookmark it
  8. Dorothy Breininger of Hoarders messaged me yesterday and I just want to hug her bones.
  9. My violins will be ready this weekend \o/
  10. MY BUTT LOOKS REALLY GOOD IN THESE PANTS.
  11. It's Friday, and I hope you have a fantastic weekend. :)
(And now I go back to writing this body-swap Teen Wolf fic, that is now over 40K. My goal: finish it this weekend/Monday.)

I will miss your recaps of Glee, anywhere. Yours were always the best and kept me up to date the year I had to go without television. It was never a quick read over coffee. Judging from last night's program though...

My fervent wish for you is that your life would become LOTS less stressful.

And oxtail ragu sounds pretty fabulous.

Just as you are fabulous.

I have a very strong feeling that once the season is coming to a close, I'll go back and put them all up for the ones I've missed, but for now I have to just say I can't do it. I've been miserable for weeks, now, getting messages from people wanting me to talk about it, and I don't WANT to talk about things that make me miserable. =/ (I'm just venting, I'm not trying to say that you're contributing in any way.) <3

I have HIGH HOPES that in a few weeks my life WILL become less stressful, so there's that. I'm just taking steps to ease things now is all.

<3 <3 You are pretty fabulous, too, I must say!

OK I'm completely spoiler free but have yet to see last night's episode... now I'm worried >_<

I'll be sad not to see your reviews/recaps, but I understand and respect why. *sigh* Why can't there be more than 24 hours in a day?

THE RAGU SOUNDS AMAZING; ragu is the world's best comfort food in my not so humble opinion ;) Would you be willing to share the recepie? I understand if not as you have put a lot of work into it.

*offers a large drink of choice* Hope things get easier for you soon.

I was unhappy for a few episodes now, and the "Glee, Actually" episode is what really sealed the deal for me. (This current ep just didn't change my mind.) MAN, I WISH THERE WERE MORE THAN 24 HOURS IN A DAY. I could get so much done....

Oh, I plan on sharing the recipe - I'm going to post it later today. it's LONG, so I didn't want to drag this post out with a bunch of mish-mash, is all. Eyes peeled at this LJ in... four hours? (I'm finishing up some tasks first) <3

I was wondering what was going on with Glee, but I TOTALLY understand where you're coming from. I don't even watch the show any longer so I get it. :) I'm seriously enjoying Teen Wolf and Game of Thrones right now (finally watching the show!) so consider this reader of HDJM very happy. :)

I was in NYC back in 2010 with a friend and we ate at Mario Batali's restaurant "Del Posto." It was DIVINE. We had the tasting menu and one of the courses was this 100 layer lasagna (no really...100 layers of tissue thin pasta...amazing)and the dessert was made with eggplant. I had no idea eggplant could be made in dessert but it was delicious. The guy knows how to put together a menu, is basically what I'm saying. :)

GAME OF THRONES. Seriously, I am so excited for that show to come back, holy smokes. And Teen Wolf is just a cracky delight in every way. <3

I just moaned out loud about that lasagne. HOLY COW, THAT SOUNDS AMAZING. I just loved everything I had at Lupa, LOVED. There was a golden raisin and sardine salad that I would marry, if given the opportunity. He DEFINITELY knows how to put together a menu. And the wine steward paired my dinner with a fabulous bottle of wine, too. I can't wait to go back.

Yay to oxtail ragu, your violins and your butt looking great in those pants! My butt looks enormous in these pajamas and I don't give a damn.

I really hope your stress levels come down soon. You've just got a lot on your plate.

Over 40K of body-swap fic? Oh, my!

HAHAHHAA, I like big butts, and I cannot lie. (lol)

I'm getting (hopefully) a big part of that full plate cleared off in a few weeks, fingers crossed, so hopefully that will make life sunny and joyous again.

And of course, I've had you on the brain while making this ragu, knowing you're a foodie, too. It's seriously stupid good. I'll finish writing it up in a few hours and post. <3

I completely understand where you are coming from. I think if I am going to continue to watch Glee I will just have to fast forward to the parts I can stand to sit through. It makes me sad as a fan but it is what it is.

On a happier note I love that you are into Teen Wolf now because it is so much fun and I'm looking forward to that body swapping fic like its Christmas!

I fully support your decision to watch a show you love in a manner that allows you to continue to love it! SMART.

Teen Wolf!! Oh my god, it's so crack-tastic and delightful to look at, I just... HELL YES. And I'm so glad you're looking forward to that fic! EVEN BETTER.

I put it in a bottle with a note (in plastic, because I'm smart) to make sure people know it's for you. KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED.

(Dude. This is one of those amazing things you can make on the cheap, and make enough for two.)

I have long been of the opinion that if you're not having fun in fandom you're doing it wrong. So I'm sorry that Glee isn't bringing you joy (though I understand why), but I think it's a very wise decision for you not to be recapping it if it isn't.

BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DON'T THINK GOING BACK TO LUPA WITH ME ISN'T A BETTER SOURCE FOR THE OXTAIL RAGU! :)

I don't want to write publicly about a show I want to love and be negative, and I know you understand that. THANK GOODNESS YOU STILL WRITE ME FANFIC. Thank goodness. And that Chris Colfer is an actual human walking this earth, because he makes me ridiculously happy just existing. AS DO YOU.

I ABSOLUTELY THINK GOING BACK TO LUPA IS THE RIGHT IDEA!!!! I support this 100%. 200%!!

I'm sorry that Glee is no longer bringing you the joy. But The Walking Dead is back soon, no? Please tell me it's back soon!

That ragu sounds delicious, but time consuming. And then there's the whole, do you carry oxtails? problem. ;-) You don't see those much around these parts. I went to one of Mario's restaurants years ago - Po in NYC. I had some sort of black linguini dish. It was amazing.

THE WALKING DEAD!!!!!! Oh, it is. Um...second week of February, I believe? And then Southland comes back, then Game of Thrones, and my tv-loving heart will be SO OVERJOYED.

Oh, the ragu is TOTALLY time consuming, in that it takes forever to cook. But it's what I call 'laundry day' cooking, where you do a little to it, go about your chores/etc, come back and stir, yadda. (I just posted the recipe, if you're curious.)

If you have a butcher at your grocery store, they probably have the tails in the back, they just don't always put them out front. Asian grocers always have them, as well. Plus? CHEAP. (I just put this here for anyone scrolling by, not to be the boss of you.) Hee.

OH MY GOD THE BLACK LINGUINI. Black from squid ink, right?! AMAZING. Damn, I want to go on an eating vacation.

Kind of sad I won't get to read your perspective on one of the songs they did yesterday. But you need to do what makes you feel good. *HUGS YOU*

Now I just need to wait somewhat impatiently for Walking Dead and Game to come back to enjoy your wit again.

If it's about "Baby Got Back," I cringed through the whole thing. <-- and that's the last nasty thing I'll say. The show has just been making me very sad, and I'm thinking that is not the point, so. *hands*

THANK YOU for being so sweet about it.

OH MY GOD, WALKING DEAD. CANNOT WAIT.

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
