Quick pimpage...

I don't normally get excited over drabbles. (Unless it's Yoda/Chewbacca and lettered is involved.) ANYWAY. I dunno... Drabbles are usually too short for me to catch/get anything from them, unless there's several of them linked together, which I like. Both of these coming up are AWESOME. Two short ficlets that I read yesterday that both say a lot with very little.

The Office, Meredith/Creed (yeah, you read that correctly.) Guitar Pick, by elsbeth_lynn

BtVS, Ensemble (and seriously. A.MA.ZING.) Counting Down, by spuffyduds

Shoo! Who doesn't have time for 100 - 125 words? Lastly, if you're on the fence, consider this my push: Go See Little Miss Sunshine. It's a lighthearted and less cruel Royal Tennebaums type movie. (Am I the only one that saw that movie as a bit darker? I loved RT, by the way. This one is just more laugh out loud. Perhaps it just hits the right buttons with me. Good good movie.)

I saw your last post, and uploaded this for you:

Little Miss Sunshine Original Soundtrack

I've not seen the movie yet, but it's on my list as I've heard nothing but great things.

GAH!!! You are SO AWESOME!! I kept thinking in the theater that I needed to buy that soundtrack, too! *scratches that off my To DO List for tomorrow*

I am listening and remembering great little moments and VERY HAPPY!! (It's fantastic. Sweet, poignant, some places I just howled with laughter. Some places were gut punches and raw. Good good movie.)

OMG, yes, Counting Down was fantastic!!! You have splendid taste, m'dear.

Seriously, a sentence for each of those characters, and it was just GREAT. (Again: I don't usually get jazzed about drabbles. Not that I think they're invalid or anything, just... *shrugs* I've re-read that one a few times. Great stuff.)

Also: HELLO!

I thought Royal Tennenbaums was incredibly dark. And man, you were right about that Spuffyduds drabble! It kicks ass.

It was TIGHT! I don't rec lightly! :D

And yeah - I loved RT. Really and truly. But Little Miss Sunshine - even though it's similarily about a disfunctional family - has a positive feel to it, even when it's showing each character's failures. And seriously: moments of laughing out loud. (Steve Carrell is fantastic. I'm a huge fan of comedians playing serious roles.)

Now I have to, have to, have to see Little Miss Sunshine. You just had to make the RT comparison didn't you. And I absolutely think that it's a dark movie. I think most of the humor even comes from what you're watching being so horrific that you have to laugh. The scenes with Ben Stiller's character and his sons always make me laugh and I think they're the saddest scenes in the movie.

Oh, absolutely! The Ben Stiller/his sons scenes were so pathetic and sad, and yeah. Hilarious.

(OMG, are you watching Project Runway??? JEFFERY IS SUCH AN ASS HE IS MAKING SOMEONE'S MOTHER CRY!!)

(Ugh. Yes. I want to wrap my hands around his stupid neck tattoo and squeeze. Angela's mom seems so sweet.)
Aug. 24th, 2006 02:30 am (UTC)
I WANT TO PUNCH HIM IN THE NUTS. Gah. Angela's mom seems like a weeper, but JEEZ. (I'm in lov with Michael's mom! OMG. He was so excited to see her!! ♥)

He needs to go. He just needs to go. (She's cute. I also like Kayne's mom. And Heidi's mom is freakin gorgeous.)
Aug. 24th, 2006 02:43 am (UTC)
I meant Uli's mother. Her name is Heidi.
Aug. 24th, 2006 03:50 am (UTC)

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
