Laughter. Been missing from LJ for a bit, right? Well, now you can laugh at me!!!

Borrowed from violethamster, who wore acid wash jeans with pride.

Of all the bands/artists in your CD / record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?

Easy. Hands down, the Beastie Boys. (And many are autographed...)

What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?

Track 11 on Franz Ferdinand's album. Too lazy to look up title, but it KICKS pirate treasure.

What's on your [CD] player right now? Latin Guitar Festival, The Sundays, Franz Ferdinand (it's a multi disc player, duh)

What song would you say sums you up?

Truthfully, "I Wanna Be a Monkey" by Ren & Stimpy, but I wish I could say something hip like a track from PJ Harvey. 12 years ago? "Been Caught Stealing" by Janes Addiction. Such a naughty girl...

What's your favourite local band?

It's been a loooong time, but Dah-veed (who was in Twang, Twang, Shock-a-boom) or Cary Pierce of JackoPierce. I'm gettin' old... I remember seeing Edie Brickell play at Club Dada before she hit it... OHH!!! Erika Badu! She fecking ROCKS live.

What was the last show you attended?
Rock? Reunion of JackoPierce last fall. Symphonic? DSO playing the soundtrack of LOTR, which was awesome. Or the hot love show in my house the other day, snicker snicker... Oh. MUSIC show. I see.

What was the greatest show you've ever been to?

In Big D? David Bowie's Changes tour. GOD that man can prance... Last time he played the old hits, too. Ahem. Supposedly.

Ever? U2's final show from the Zoo TV tour, in Las Vegas, The Sugarcubes and Public Enemy opened up. EVERY KIND OF MUSIC was represented, it was VEGAS, and I got pulled up on stage during "She moves in mysterious ways." Fucking Bono making fun of my seizure... Hee! That was an incredible experience. Public Enemy!!!1eleventy!

What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?

I got roped into a watching a competetion for the next new "Hot Country Star." F*cking. Awful. Most of the drummers looked like they were falling asleep. (Du wacka du wacka du...)

What band do you love musically but hate the members of?

R. E. M. Kidding. If I don't like the people, I probably won't like the music. Um.. N'Sync? Hee. Even assholes like Johnny Rotten amuse me socially, so... I got nothing.

What is the most musically involved you have ever been?

I'll put it this way: my dad is a musician, and his family was one of the sole violin makers in Denamrk before they immigrated. It was more an issue of WHEN WAS I NOT INVOLVED IN MUSIC. I play: piano, guitar (a little, and suck at), violin, viola (played for years in the school orchestra), cello and stand up bass. Had to sing in every choir that came around, especially my dad's, and we were not allowed to speak during meal times, because that was when my dad "tried out" new albums. But secretly, we loved it. I play no instruments currently, but my goal is to be able to plkay the fiddle for a Charlie Daniel's cover band. "The Devil Went DOwn to Georgia" is still butt kickin' with it's cheesiness.

What show are you looking forward to?

Angie Stone is coming to town, so I'd like to see that. I'm loving the Neo-Soul sound.

What is your favourite band shirt?

Up until recently, I had a sweet CBGB T-shirt that finally wore out. No more band shirts. Too expensive!

What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?

Because I am a sad, sad woman, I'll say Sting. He still does it for me. I'd have him singing "Da do do do, de da da da" in a matter of a half hour. Hee! Or for his brain and the love of his music, Peter Gabriel. Seriously, if you haven't heard his Passions album (the music from The Last Temptation of Christ, do yourself a favor and get it. Brilliant and haunting.)

What musician would you like to hump for a day?

Sting. (see above) To really humiliate myself, Justin Timberlake. Gah!!!! He's just so nerdy/cute, and he can breakdance! That is so my weakness. And now you know. /shame

Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
I'd like to answer this in the form of a song:

Duh duh. (tick tick tick) Duh duh (tick) Duh duh (tick) Duh duh (Ay ay ay!) Ozzy! Okay, I was in NO WAY a metal head, so I knew nothing of them until Beavis and Butthead. New Wave? Rap? "Alternative Rock?" Intro-Punk? Yep. Metal? Those guys were freaks, man.

Commodores or solo Lionel Richie?
Jumba nichee say se monah. Yeah, jumbo jumbo. We can party all week long. Oh! Jumbo nah. Jumbo nichee say se monah. Yeah, jumbo jumbo! WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN???
COMMODORES, no question. I AM a brick house.

What was the greatest decade for music?

My first instinct is to say the 70s, but Floyd and Zepplin started in late 60s, BUT: they were hitting their stride in the 70s. Plus: Carole King's Tapestry was 70s, Punk started then, The Cure started in the 70s, The Police formed in the 70s... and they all influenced how music sounded. Lynard Skynard! Greatful Dead! F*CKING SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE was in the 70s. Soul took major strides in the 70s - Earth, Wind and Fire! Kool and the Gang. The SugarHill Gang was in the 70s. Everything has been affected by these guys (collective listed above) Um, have I made my case yet?

How many music-related videos / DVDs do you own?

Does "Once More With Feeling" count? Otherwise, none. (Nerds)

What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
It is just brilliant music (I like classical a BUNCH) The Mission, by Ennio Morricone (gah - it KILLS me with it's beauty), or I've mentioned the soundtrack to The Last Temptation of Christ by Peter Gabriel. The CD from ...Say Anything is pretty terrific, and the one from Garden State is almost flawless.

What's the crappiest CD / record / etc. you've ever bought?

Don't buy crap. I'm the asshole that listens to the album before I buy it. Oh! Wait: a compilation of kid songs sung by children who are obviously being tortured by having pudding shoved up their noses. And I suspect they are on drugs. But my kids listen to it, and I leave the room.

Do you prefer vinyl or CDs?

CDs: it's immediate, and I am an impatient bastard.

All totalled, how much do you spend on music in a month?

I try to buy 2 CDs a month, which is lame sounding since I used to buy over 15 a month in college.
Thank god for KaZaA.

Last album you paid money for?

Zero7, and worth every penny.

Band you'd most like to see / have seen?

PRINCE. The teeny, wee man can throw DOWN at a show. Maybe I won't be drunk this time and I can get more into it, than be half-passed out with my date. I am not a lush, contrary to what my posts indicate.

That's Miss Simon if you're nasty. When she performed for that Vietnam movie with Tom Cruise? Everyone in my senior class got out of school and tried to be extras. I didn't make it in, but a bunuch of my friends did. I was too "clean-cut" at that time.

(Say like you have pudding in your mouth)
I may not be a smaht man, Vinnie, but I knoe whut love ee-yis.

Yayuss. Thanks. And Tom looks bad with hair extensions. But the wheelchair fight on the side of a dusty Mexican highway was fantastic.

Paul Simon. Love him. Wish he didn't charge several hundred dollars for the priveledge of seeing him perform.

Do you like Erika Badu? The Neo-Soul sound? The Roots? That sound makes me happy.

Neo-Soul is more my bf's bag; Erika Badu, Angie Stone, Jill Scott and the like. I'm alright with it, like to listen, wouldn't buy.

The Roots on the other hand? Love, have since I was in middle school. Saw them live 4 years ago. Awesome show.

Shake it down, shake it down now.

I am even now listening to the Beastie Boys, Earth Wind and Fire, and The Cure in honor of you.

And Prince - now that reminds me of yet another of my embarrassing clothes phases.

We're three MCs and we're on the go...
Purple skin tight shark skin suit with a frilled pirate shirt and 4 inch heeled boots? With a rhinestone headband to hold your bangs out of your eyes?

Shadrach, Mishach, Abednigo.

Thought of you when I mentioned the Bowie concert. AND: it was outside, so we had a big blanket and were laying down looking at the stars and listening to Bowie. Awesome. Big jumbotrons so you could see all of his winks and prancing.

Steal away!!

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
