Title: Where There's Smoke [The EPILOGUE]
Rating: Fer Errbody (overall rated M: be old enough to not put me in jail, pls.)
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine, Wes and David friendship, mentions of former Finn/Rachel
Word Count: 2400/100,000
Warnings: Kurt finally hangs out at the fire station. Guess what happens? (Be prepared, my firefighter daughters, for intense situations)
Summary: Fireman AU. A few months down the road.
A/N: This wouldn't exist (no, truly, I almost deleted it) without the most amazing editor a person could ask for, flaming_muse. Any remaining errors fall squarely on her my shoulders. I AM SO OVERWHELMED BY YOUR RESPONSE. Unbelievably gratifying, thank you so much, each and every one of you.

It wasn’t usually this cold in New York City by November, but the weather apparently didn’t care to stick with the program and was running on a mid-January schedule.Collapse )

So I'm kind of crazy and I read this straight through in 4 hours, but this was absolutely adorable and wonderful and amazing and I'm running out of adjectives to tell you how much I loved this story.

I don't even know what to say. This fic made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me exceptionally happy for two fictional characters.

There are no words. Just, thank you for this.

Also I LOVE IT when people write competently about NYC. You did a really good job with this. I felt like I was walking down these familiar streets alongside Kurt/Blaine/Rachel. Well done.

Aaaahh this was amazing!! I read this all at once, was reading till some ridiculous hour last night, and almost fell asleep at work today because of it, but totally worth it! The versions of these characters that you've created are so believable and realistic, and just brilliant. I'm kinda sad that it's all over now though...whatever will I do?!
Thank you for writing this and making my day a little brighter :)

Thank you so much for reading and enjoying it, I really appreciate you!

Thank You.
This is the best fanfiction I've ever read. I've never left a comment on a story before. This one touched me. You created something beautiful and precise; the way you blended canon quotes and moments into this universe was nothing less than perfection. Everything about this story breathed new yet familiar life into these characters and their relationships. Thank you so much for allowing me to take this journey.

So great! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! You don't even know. The characters, although not exactly like the characters in the show, were perfect the small differences worked because they went through different experiences. I loved the mimicking of things in the show "I want you to be" umm, I know there were other ones but that is the only one that came to mind... ANYWAY LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!! just perfect... I... I can't even find words to describe my love. You are a fantastical writer.... I just.... *dies from happiness* Thank you so much for writing this.

I'm so happy to know you enjoyed this! And hopefully this is the way the characters will be in seven years... (Well, obviously not with Blaine as a fireman, lol.) Future fics are fun to write, to project where you see the characters headed after they get a little more life under their belts.

Thank you very much for reading, and for letting me know what you thought!

This is a good ending, though I'm slightly worried as to where Rachel is living.

What a fantastic note to end on. Thanks so much for the story, I truly enjoyed it and am heading over to AO3 so I can have it on my Kindle. And I'm pleased as punch that you plan to revisit this 'verse.

Wow.. that's just... wow. A charming story that makes you believe it truly happend somewhere sometime, cause they are so alive. I think I kept smiling almost non-stop since yesterday evening when I started to read the first chapter. And still smiling. :-)

Thank you, dear author! You are brilliant. Hope you'll have everything good in your life that you given to these two in your story.

Thank you so much for this beautiful and amazing story!!! I love your Blaine and your Kurt. I can totally see them becoming these men if they hadn't been lucky enough to meet as teenagers. Still have to read Sister's story- I'm looking forward to reading that totally different take on this verse. Thanks thanks thanks for being such an awesome writer!! :)

I've been trying to find the words to express how much I loved this. I started reading on Thursday night, and I literally had to delete the link from my delicious account because I was so tempted to finish reading at work and I had meetings and deadlines. That's my way of saying that the story sucked me right into the world.

There are a lot of AU scenarios I've considered before, but never fireman!Blaine. When I read that, I had to stop and think for a minute (and then fan myself). It really works in ways I didn't think it could. Blaine's story is so heartbreaking, but it made his finding happiness that much sweeter. Still, I wish he didn't have to go through all that.

I enjoyed reading about what firemen do in their downtime and what it's like at the station house. In the movies I've seen, we usually see a game of cards interrupted by the alarms and nothing else. Reading about "we die" and how physically and emotionally exhausting the job is was really sobering. Not skirting around that, and making the story about heroism, not uniforms is what makes it really amazing.

I saw this comment when I was at a party last night and had to excuse myself, because I was making a wibble face. :)

I'm so, so glad you enjoyed the story. What I love the most here is that you got that I was (sneakily) putting in a real person, not a kink. Those men/women and what they do for their JOB just astounds and humbles me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your picking up on that. Thank you so very much.

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
