1) I encountered my first "fangirl" for the show SouthLAnd on HDJM. (Maybe it's a guy? IDK.) For those of you that watch the show (which should be everyone) I think we all can agree that the writing is spectacular. Every tv critic agrees with that. Um, this new reader of the site (and I'm very grateful for the clicks! VERY.) thinks there are loads of continuity errors and shoddy characterization, and John Cooper is the worst. Insert HUH? face here. Because...WTF? It's just interesting. The completely opposite perspective. *cough*
2) Aside from that, the few comments we're getting are incredibly thoughtful and interesting. Smart shows = smart viewers. Typically. That's awesome.
3) Thank you to each of you that read my post yesterday about how to best support HDJM by clicking and sharing via social networking. We had a significant increase in traffic from various sources, so SEE? IT WORKS!! <3 <3 <3
4) And *cough* If ever you feel inspired, a drop in the ol' tip jar is always awesome. <-- that is very hard for me to say, so. I won't bring it up again for a while, promise.
5) If my cats wake me up at 4am one more time (just for cuddles!!) I am going to make a fur stole out of them. I won't, but GAH. Smidgen puts her paws right in the center of my bewb then touches my lips with her wet, cold nose. Then head butts me. STOP BEING ADORABLE AFTER HURTING ME. And LET ME SLEEP. *cries*
6) The Boy turns sixteen on Sunday. And he's currently sick. So it looks like his party is cancelled for now. :( (I have a sneaking suspicion that it's tonsillitis, too. Wah. Dr.s in a bit.)
7) Parks and Rec continues to be one of the best comedies on TV, and Leslie Knope is a hero for all girls, everywhere. If you're not watching, you should be.
8) [will not put in Violent Femmes reference] It is luvxander's birthday today! I have had the pleasure of going out dancing with CJ (Writercon Atlanta, holla!) and CJ, you are a DELIGHT. One of the sweetest, funniest guys on LJ. Oh, the southern sass, how I love it. I hope you step away from the books this weekend and fully enjoy yourself. <3 (I'll spend the day writing Klaine in your honor.)
9) I've slowly, but surely, been adding my "decent" fics to the AO3 well, and some of the better "crack" fics. Ha. I'm a big fan of that site. And thanks to everyone for the search help Wed.
10) Oh, Laws, it's the weekend! YAY SLEEPING IN. *gives cats the stink eye*

Leslie's redacted apology was hilarious - and god, how much do I love her standing there saying that it's not okay to call a woman a bitch? I drew ALL the air hearts.

Oh, I just loved that. LOVE LESLIE. She's the best role model for girls, and her relationship with Anne continues to be awesome as well.

It's so refreshing to have a female character that just LIKES herself and knows what she wants, and isn't afraid to DO for herself. <3

Weekend! *\o/* *shoos the kitties out and closes the door*

I really hope the boy doesn't have tonsillitis, and is on the mend quickly! Happy birthday to him in advance! Sixteen, good god! That is just not allowed. D:

And randomly, I laugh so, so hard every time your "SHH ARMPIT" icon pops up on my flist. :D

They are so naughty, J! SO NAUGHTY.

He's all bundled up on the sofa with liquids and crackers and throat lozenges and out like a light. FINGERS CROSSED.

(I love that you love it. It makes me laugh so hard!)

Leslie Knope! (Said in Chris's delighted voice and huge smile.) Man, I love her... and the whole damn show. I seriously need more icons of it.

Hugs to the boy.

She is LIT-rally? The best female on television. I NEED ICONS, TOO.

I really really do. I've put up a good 12 fics now? It's nice having them in a central location and you know I looooooove the hit trackers. <3

Oh poor kiddo! I hope it's nothing serious. I'm always getting sick for my birthday. It's been my special skill for many many years!

He's soooooo sick, the poor thing. Sacked out, doesn't even want Gatorade. Sleep is def. what the boy needs. <3

1. Fanperson's love of all things Ben McKenzie delights me even as it taints their perception of South LAnd. It reminds me of being obsessively fannish about all things Buffy once upon a time. I never went to see any of the Buffy cast in a play or band, but I probably would have if I'd lived in Los Angeles...

2. Other commenters comments are wonderfully clever and insightful. It's delightful the show has such a smart audience. I have nothing to add.

3. You actually got me to log on to facebook for the first time in weeks and weeks.

4. Sorry, this broke housewife is broke.

5. Hahahahaha! Your cats just love you and want you to be awake to love you some more.

6. Sixteen!?! What a drag he's under the weather. Missing your birthday blows.

7. I love great TV. Leslie Knope is great TV.

The cedar pollen is kicking my ass and I have to go out in it because we had Mexican food at a BYOB restaurant last night and I need to work off a bajillion calories worth of chips and salsa and beer.

1. Ha, I know, right? Aww. I mean, if she's still watching, fine. But...that was a skewed perspective, right?

2. Except your own voice, which is always welcomed! <3 my smart readers!!

3. Ha! Oh, it's a nightmare most of the time, right?

4. You support us ENOUGH. Really. I appreciate every click and how you're reading so many of the writers. That is SO HELPFUL.

5. GAH, I need one night's sleep without interruption. Just one, kitties!

6. Poor thing. He's too sick to care, too. :(

My SiL (north of Austin) has been complaining about the cedar for months. Oh, it's been MISERABLE for y'all!! But mmmmm, chips and salsa and beer. And nachos. With fajita beef. And jalapenos. MMMMM. Which reminds me to make some cream of poblano soup today! NOM.

I finally saw the new ep. of Southland so now i can read the recap! Yay!

How can anyone not like the show? And if they hate it, why bother commenting on it?

And tonsillitis? That would suck so hard. I'm the only one of my two brothers and sister who escaped with their tonsils intact.

YAY! Come talk to me about it! There are some awesome comments over on HDJM.

And I have NO IDEA (that particular comment is there, too.) It's... bizarre. But hey, I remember fangirlin' back in the day. Kinda. (Not really.) LOL.

They don't really want to take them out nowadays. He hasn't ever had it before, so we're just riding it out with ibuprofen, fluids, and lots of sleep. Poor kid.
Jan. 27th, 2012 08:40 pm (UTC)
I am mid-review right now and just discovered there is no water. I'm hoping 'scheduled repair' and not 'massive line break'. Sheesh.

Yeah, popping them out was the 'thing' back in the day - though, they *are* kinda useless. Hope he feels better in time for some kind of birthday celebration.
Jan. 27th, 2012 09:14 pm (UTC)
OH NO!! Good luck with the plumbing!
Jan. 27th, 2012 09:19 pm (UTC)
LINE BREAK. Utilities finally answered their phone. Line break, and no clue when it'll be back.

Yeesh. At least i wasn't in the shower.

Not only did I step away from the books, but I skipped class all day today and my roommates and I went out shopping, had a great lunch at a fabulous Chinese place, then more shopping!!! Then we came home, had a couple bottles of cheap wine, had a nap, then headed back out for more hanging out/looking around stuff. Then we went to a Scentsy party....then we had dinner at a local BBQ place and, finally, we wound up at the movies to see Underworld: Awakening. And now, we're back home with more bottles of cheap wine and fondue!!!

I've never really had a fun/happy birthday before, that I can remember, but today has been the best day ever!!!!!

How was your day?!

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
