Top Chef! Also, seeking new writers!

First, the Top Chef Finale's recap is up at Hey, Don't Judge Me. Let's keep discussion there to spare people of spoilers, okay?

Second, as we have some shows winding down, I'm looking to add new ones to the stable of shows at HDJM, and am looking for new writers.

Here's what to do, if you're interested:

  1. Email me at heydontjudgeme[at]gmail.com, subject header: NEW WRITER:[show you want to recap]

  2. send me a sample of a recap for the show (if it's a show that hasn't aired yet, pick another show with a similar vein, ie: mystery for mystery, sci fi for sci fi, etc.) It only needs to be a few paragraphs long, like a scene or two, just enough to give me an idea of your writing style

  3. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: conversational writing. Imagine telling a long-lost friend about the most amazing thing they're not watching.

  4. Also: understand that I EXPECT a 24-hour or less turn around time. Consistently being late means getting the boot. Sorry, but we're moving into pro-territory here, and I expect my writers to piss excellence. :D

And if it's a returning show, I'd love for the new writer to be willing to go back and sum up previous seasons, if possible.

Due to the fact that I don't have cable, what would be your policy on those restricted to using Hulu to access shows? I'd be interested, especially for Terra Nova, Once Upon a Time or Grimm but I'm limited to when it's available to air via the interwebs.

I could *potentially* talk the husband into a Hulu subscription, but I figure it's better to determine logistics first.

I pretty much REQUIRE that people have access to their shows, and they must get a turn around in 24 hours. Once we go pro within the month (fingers crossed) that will result in termination, honestly.

Understood. You want it to be a successful business after all. I'll check on the turn around for show postings with Hulu Plus for the ones I'm interested in and get back to you.

*salute!* And don't forget I still need to see writing samples from applicants.

It's so cool to hear that people are interested, though, YAY!

Application sent in. The husband was convinced and it looks like so long as I'm not recapping a FOX network show, I'll be good to go.

Noted. I'm moving into my new house this weekend, which will make my time much easier to manage (as opposed to squatting in my parents' basement). Also, I think I forgot to tell you this, but my show is on hiatus until March 15.

New house, new house!!!! That is SO EXCITING.

(I knew it was on hiatus! Whew, I'm glad you don't have to deal with recaps while moving, that would have been obnoxious. I can't wait to see pics of the new place. HINT. :D)

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
