Title: A Love I Can Be Sure Of (part of WTS verse)
Rating: NC-17
Spoilers: Not a one.
Word Count: 7200
Warnings: Shower sex? Pruney fingers? NASA jokes? Happy people enjoying each other's bodies?
Summary: You didn't think I'd let the other one-shot be the christening of the new fire station, did you? Pure lovin' under the cut.
A/N: You're welcome for not titling this with any number of cheesy Fireman Puns: It's take a big hose to put out that fire, Firemen Are Hot, etc. Also, THANK YOU to flaming_muse for initially saying that I should follow through on this whole idea and reading and guiding me along the way. And seriously: spend money on shoes and lube. Two places you should never skimp. Title is from Carole King's gorgeous song, "Tonight You're Mine (Completely)" because it makes me happy.

Picks up immediately after THIS, and is a part of the Where There's Smoke 'verse.

They decided to not call anyone that night, to have their engagement remain as something precious and just between them, if only for a few more hours.Collapse )

A treasure trove of 7200 words. Thank you! I want this verse to go on forever. You have perfectly captured the emotion between the two, and the sensitivity of their engagement, being on the same page: beautiful. And the shower scene! Ngh! You never miss a beat.

Have I mentioned how perfect you are lately?
This was both deliciously hot and amazingly sweet.
You make me so happy, you know.

I'm so glad this was both of those things - that's just what I set out to write, HOORAY! :D

Aww, you're so sweet. Thank you very much for this (and for reading!)

Why are you so awesome? Because you are, you know. Awesome!

Please tell me there will be more in this verse. I just want to see everyones reaction to their marriage next, especially Burt and the rest of the guys at the fire station.

Nuh uh. ;) (Thank you.)

ANd I...think there will be. I'm writing a mini-story right now. I have no idea how long it will end up being, but it's grabbed hold of me and I'm going to see how far I can take it. Thank you for reading! <3

Hahahaha, I got another one! Blaine makes quite the dashing hero, I think. (Of course I think Kurt's not too shabby, himself.)

<3 Thank you for reading!

*points to my icon* That's right, I love you. :o) This was sooooo good! They are just the two sweetest sweets that ever sweeted! "Sweeted" is a word, right? Anyway thanks for putting the hearts in my eyes. Love this whole universe you've created!

I believe in wordsmithery, so I support the word "sweeted" as something real.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Oh, I do love sweet affection, and I'm happy that you do, too! <3

Hottest thing I've read in AGES. Your Blaine is so perfectly deliciously sexual that I can't stand it, I think I was all but panting. christ. *______*

That is AWESOME to hear, because smut is the hardest damn thing in the world for me to write. <3

So glad to know you enjoyed this!

Blaine opened his eyes, nothing but honest affection in their depths. “I get to be your husband, Kurt.”
Blaine shook his head and sighed. “Already with the domineering husband act.”

Kurt laid his hand flat on his chest and melted a little. “Aw. Husbands! Blaine!”

I love how they're both in awe over the fact that they're going to marry each other. And that their excitement is so joyous that they can't not say it out loud, even when Kurt has just told Blaine to get naked already.

Velcro, Tang, walking on the moon and and now space lube...is there anything NASA can't do?

Seriously, though, wonderful chapter. Well, "wonderful" isn't really the right adjective, but I always kinda awkwardly flail around a bit when trying to come up with the right words to describe my feelings on a chapter like this. Let's just say that me and Kurt -- both a little weak in the knees and wobbly after that. (Dear god, firefighter shower sex.)

But yet all the incredible hotness is wrapped up in these pure emotions. Blaine looking at Kurt's pruney fingers and imagining what he'll look like in 50 years -- that's one of the most romantic things ever.

Laughing while naked? That was love.

Yes. Yes, it is.

I think that for this Kurt (as in WTS-verse Kurt who didn't have Dalton, didn't have a best friend that was gay, didn't have that best friend become his lover) to be able to a) have someone he finds so unbelievably attractive find him so attractive in return - it would be overwhelming and joyful and so much hope and excitement that his heart would ache. And then add marriage to that? It's a wonder he doesn't just fall over. :)

(And for this Blaine, to have someone so joy-filled and happy, someone that just embraces life with everything in them, that's all he's ever wanted. Gosh, I'm glad they found each other. Hahaha.)

Thank you so, so much for this. I LOVE getting comments from you (and even read your comments to other stories) because you're such a thoughtful and intuitive reader. You always pick out little moments that other people gloss over, but you intrinsically know they meant a lot to the writer.

The water wrinkled fingers visual killed me with cute <3 Oh, Blainers.

This was as incredible as ever, please please please never stop.

Ha, I love how instantly sentimental and open Blaine can be. :D (And you know Kurt just swoons all over again, every time...)

Thank you so much for reading and commenting!! <3 <3

Did I not comment the first two times I read this??? I was certain I did, but I couldn't see my icon, so I mustn't have, but stupid oversights are stupid because GOD I loved this. Love this story, love these boys, love this universe. Of course I now would love to see more, more where they tell everyone, more where there is a wedding, or parties, or anything. Anything you give us, I will be thrilled with.

But I have one teeny weeny question. In paragraph three, you started a thought, and even though I read it over a bunch of times, I couldn't see where it ended. You started with "One year, six months and nine days since he told the man sitting across from him –" and then broke into a gorgeous description of Blaine, but didn't finish WHAT Kurt told Blaine. I'm pretty sure I know it referenced when Kurt first said "I love you", but I'm not SURE and I want to BE sure.
Jun. 11th, 2012 11:00 pm (UTC)
Ha, I guess that distraction didn't read well after all - If he hadn't been caught up in looking down at Blaine and thinking him handsome, etc., it would have been him realizing how long it had been since he'd said, "I love you." :)

I'll have to go back and tweak that, I think, to make that read more clearly.

And I am SO HAPPY to know that you still enjoyed this! Thank you so much!

Oh good golly if this wasn't just the most perfect thing in the world...

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
