Still here!

I'm lurking more than posting, because...there's not much to say. I mean, I ALWAYS have something to say, but nothing that interests folks.

Random bullet points!
  • I am so in love with True Detective, I can't even. I haven't seen last night's episode, because of Walking Dead reasons, but that's on deck for later
  • enjoying this back half of Teen Wolf, and seriously cannot get over the gift that show has in its actors, because gee dee, are there some amazing performances coming out of it. Of an MTV show, for crying out loud. <3
  • I am working on the very last chapter of this monster of a fic I've been writing for months, now, and it'll feel so good to write The End. Soon, so, so soon.
  • I've become closer to some old acquaintances from high school over the past several months, and wow, am I ever glad that we don't judge each other by who we were at 16-18. KIDS: it really does change. People really do grow up. Not everyone, I won't lie to you, but when they do? You'll be surprised. (Point in fact: the husband of this particular couple was the It Guy, the "douchey popular" guy. Except inside, he wasn't that at all. And once he left school and figured himself out, he became this amazing person who I am so damn proud to call friend. How cool is that?)
  • I'm at a point in my life where it's almost physically painful to write into a vacuum, so you may not see too much of me around here. Not that I'm leaving, I just don't see myself posting daily like I once did. Seasons change, etc. etc.
  • But I am ALWAYS reading and commenting when applicable. <3
  • Time to make lobster mac-n-cheese again. <3

Of course for a moment there, I thought you meant an actual vacuum, and was all, "guuuuuurl, why?"

It's so echoing in here and snug, that's why! :)

It's nice to know that some people change. I don't have any friends from high school except my brother and he hasn't changed a bit. He's still that douchey popular guy who should be selling cars! His kids are great, though.

I have nothing interesting to say either. It's cold, we're having self invited house guests (three sets over the next month and a half), I'm cranky about having to cook and clean for aforementioned self invited house guest. Oh, well, that's what we get for living some place people want to visit.

I've been hearing great things about TW this season. It's great it's making everybody so gleeful.

I'm four behind on TWD. The mister keeps waffling about being over it and I'm waiting until he makes up his mind. Fortunately, there are lots of lovely athletes taking up my TV time for the next couple weeks. We love us some hockey and curling is always fun :D

I didn't keep any friends from high school, but reconnected with people who I'd liked, but hadn't been close to, and now that we're adults, YAY! And some of the douchey guys from school got douchier. =/

it's SO COLD. And I'm so sorry that you're having to work and all of that while cranky. I know those feels, and you have my sympathy and virtual hugs.

I personally think TWD has been its best this season, but I don't think everyone agrees, lol. SO MANY GAMES FOR YOU TO BE WATCHING RIGHT NOW!!

DID YOU MEAN YOURSELF? I'll get a bigger mailbox. <3

I AM JUST WAITING for a vital, super-vital, like omg rly important academic thing that definitely requires me to use Texas research libraries/hang out at yrs, lie in your pool, look incredibly short next to your children, get you drinking tea the English way, EAT PROPER TACOS &c &c &c.

BTW, do you remember that discussion we had about what a bloke would have called the girl he was trying to court? I thought the other day that he might report having asked her to be his sweetheart (this is based on Teddy in Alcott's Jo's Boys using that phrase) but he probably wouldn't use that phrase to others (esp men?). I know it's probs way too late and/or muddying the waters, but it came to me!

Oh, no, that's wonderful! I'm just about finished with the story, but that means my first full draft. I'll have to go back and pick at it from the start to make sure I've pulled all the threads tight, so having vernacular in my head whilst doing so is a great help. <3

I adore reading your randomness, so whenever you do, I will. :)

I wish you love and peace. And cookies.

Truly these are the greatest gifts wished to me, and now you go to the TOP OF MY LIST OF GREAT HUMANS. <3 <3 <3 (Thank you for that!)

Lobster mac-and-cheese sounds delish! Eat some for me.

*hugs you*

Look. I know this is confusing, but vacuum cleaners are for giving your children to clean up messes, not for writing into. They'll suck your pen right out of your hand!

I'm glad I could clear that up for you! :D

After you watch this week's episode of True Detective, read this. Also, have you seen this yet?
Feb. 17th, 2014 07:16 pm (UTC)
I DID, AND ISN'T THAT FREAKING AMAZING?! The logistics of that shot are astounding from a technical standpoint. I held my breath almost the whole 6 minutes, gasping here and there. SO DAMN GOOD.

Lobster Mac and cheese!

Last night my grumpy (but lovely) husband pointed out that watching True Detective makes him seem like an optimist by comparison.</p>

I love redemption stories.

OMG, 1) sorry I'm late in replying and 2) have you seen all of the theories of how this is hearkening back to The King In Yellow, Aleister Crowley, and Lovecraft?!

GAH. Such a good show. And when I find myself agreeing with Cohle, I know it's time to hug a puppy.

(Sorry for the late reply!) I've not been able to reacquaint myself with anyone I went to school with for the same reason, or because I was the one who flitted off to elsewhere. It's such a pleasant discovery to realize we all don't have to be judged by our teen selves. :D

*hugs back to you!*

Are You Actually

Reading this? I'm just curious. Because that's really detail-oriented of you. Feel free to stop reading. But you can see that there's more here, so are you going to keep reading? Really? That's pretty dedicated. I'm impressed. No, really. I'm not being sarcastic, why do you get like that? See, this is the problem I have with your mother - yes. YES. I'm going there. It's time we put all of our cards on the table.

I love you, why are you doing this? After all we've been through? You don't have to be like this. You know, still reading. You could be baking a pie. And then sharing it with me.
